The Sun Hydraulics DNDATSV212N (DNDATSV212N) is a solenoid-operated 4-way, 2-position cartridge valve that functions as a direct-acting, balanced spool directional valve. Designed for robust performance, the solenoid tube assembly is fatigue-rated for service up to 5000 psi (350 bar), ensuring reliability under high-pressure conditions. This valve operates without the need for minimum hydraulic pressure and offers multiple manual override options, including configurations without manual overrides. It features a wet armature design where the working fluid surrounds the armature, which can be beneficial or detrimental depending on fluid type and coil energization duration. The valve is compatible with EPDM seals for phosphate ester fluids while cautioning against petroleum-based fluids that may damage these seals. The solenoid's magnetic design provides high efficiency with significant spool actuating force per watt expended, contributing to dependable valve shifting. Additionally, the valve integrates Sun's floating style construction to minimize binding risks due to installation torque or machining variations. This model fits into a T-31A cavity and belongs to Series 1 with a capacity of 10 gpm (40 L/min). It boasts a rapid typical response time of approximately 50 ms and can handle switching frequencies up to 15,000 cycles per hour. The maximum allowable leakage at specified conditions is minimal at 10 in\u00b3/min (3000 psi). Various coil termination and voltage options are available for diverse applications, with some offering IP69K protection ratings for enhanced environmental resistance. Coils are interchangeable within the Sun Series 1 products and can be mounted bidirectionally on the tube. Weighing just .60 lb (.30 kg), this valve is compact yet powerful, making it suitable for applications requiring precise directional control in hydraulic systems.

This solenoid-operated 4-way, 2-position cartridge is a direct-acting, balanced spool directional valve.

  • The solenoid tube assembly is fatigue rated for 5000 psi (350 bar) service.
  • This valve is direct actuated and requires no minimum hydraulic pressure for operation.
  • This cartridge has several manual override choices, including no manual override. See the CONFIGURATION section. Please note: Manual override functionality is not compatible with weatherized coils.
  • On models equipped with the D or L control, the detent mechanism in the manual override is meant for temporary actuation. The D, L and T manual control assembly has a mechanical life expectancy of approximately 7,000 cycles.
  • Cartridges with EPDM seals are for use in systems with phosphate ester fluids. Exposure to petroleum based fluids, greases and lubricants will damage the seals.
  • This valve utilizes a wet armature design. This means that the working fluid surrounds the armature and is exposed to the heat generated by the coil. This can be a factor if the coil is energized for long periods of time. Some fluids, notably water/glycol mixtures, break down at these temperatures over time and form varnishes that will affect the function of the cartridge.
  • A wide variety of coil termination and voltage options are available, with and without surge protection. See the CONFIGURATION section.
  • The solenoid's unique magnetic design results in a high efficiency solenoid, yielding high spool actuating force per Watt expended, leading to reliable valve shifting.
  • Coils are interchangeable with other Sun Series 1 solenoid products and can be mounted on the tube in either direction.
  • Coil connector options offer ratings up to IP69K. See individual coil product pages for details. Additional weatherized coils and kits are available for more complete environmental protection.
  • Incorporates the Sun floating style construction to minimize the possibility of internal parts binding due to excessive installation torque and/or cavity/cartridge machining variations.
