The Sun Hydraulics DNDAXCV214 (DNDAXCV214) is a solenoid-operated, 4-way, 2-position cartridge valve designed for efficient directional control in hydraulic systems. This direct-acting, balanced spool valve is suitable for applications requiring no minimum hydraulic pressure for operation. It features a robust solenoid tube assembly rated for 5000 psi (350 bar), ensuring reliable performance under high-pressure conditions. The valve offers various manual override options, though these are not compatible with weatherized coils. Notably, the D and L control models incorporate a detent mechanism intended for temporary actuation, with an estimated mechanical life of 7,000 cycles. The DNDAXCV214 uses a wet armature design that allows the working fluid to surround the armature, which is crucial when the coil is energized for extended periods as it can affect certain fluids like water-glycol mixtures. The valve supports EPDM seals specifically for systems using phosphate ester fluids; however, exposure to petroleum-based products can damage these seals. Coil options provide diverse termination and voltage configurations with surge protection capabilities and are interchangeable with other Sun Series 1 solenoid products. This model features Sun's floating style construction to minimize internal binding due to installation torque or machining variations. It fits into cavity T-31A and has a capacity of 10 gpm (40 L/min). The valve responds typically within 50 ms and can handle switching frequencies up to 15,000 cycles per hour. Manual override requires approximately 5 lbs force at specific pressures and provides a stroke of .10 inches (2.5 mm). The valve's compact design includes a hex size of .78 inches (22.2 mm) and weighs .60 lb (.30 kg). Seal kits are available in Viton material for both cartridge and coil components.

This solenoid-operated 4-way, 2-position cartridge is a direct-acting, balanced spool directional valve.

  • The solenoid tube assembly is fatigue rated for 5000 psi (350 bar) service.
  • This valve is direct actuated and requires no minimum hydraulic pressure for operation.
  • This cartridge has several manual override choices, including no manual override. See the CONFIGURATION section. Please note: Manual override functionality is not compatible with weatherized coils.
  • On models equipped with the D or L control, the detent mechanism in the manual override is meant for temporary actuation. The D, L and T manual control assembly has a mechanical life expectancy of approximately 7,000 cycles.
  • Cartridges with EPDM seals are for use in systems with phosphate ester fluids. Exposure to petroleum based fluids, greases and lubricants will damage the seals.
  • This valve utilizes a wet armature design. This means that the working fluid surrounds the armature and is exposed to the heat generated by the coil. This can be a factor if the coil is energized for long periods of time. Some fluids, notably water/glycol mixtures, break down at these temperatures over time and form varnishes that will affect the function of the cartridge.
  • A wide variety of coil termination and voltage options are available, with and without surge protection. See the CONFIGURATION section.
  • The solenoid's unique magnetic design results in a high efficiency solenoid, yielding high spool actuating force per Watt expended, leading to reliable valve shifting.
  • Coils are interchangeable with other Sun Series 1 solenoid products and can be mounted on the tube in either direction.
  • Coil connector options offer ratings up to IP69K. See individual coil product pages for details. Additional weatherized coils and kits are available for more complete environmental protection.
  • Incorporates the Sun floating style construction to minimize the possibility of internal parts binding due to excessive installation torque and/or cavity/cartridge machining variations.
