The Sun Hydraulics DNDAXXV536 (DNDAXXV536) is a solenoid-operated, 4-way, 2-position direct-acting balanced spool directional valve. This cartridge valve is designed to operate without requiring any minimum hydraulic pressure and is fatigue-rated for service up to 5000 psi (350 bar). It features a wet armature design, which allows the working fluid to surround the armature and be exposed to heat generated by the coil. This design requires consideration of fluid types, such as avoiding water-glycol mixtures that may degrade over time due to heat exposure. The valve's solenoid exhibits high efficiency with substantial spool actuating force per watt, ensuring reliable operation. The DNDAXXV536 offers several manual override options, including models without manual override. For models equipped with D or L control, the detent mechanism in the manual override is intended for temporary actuation with a mechanical life expectancy of approximately 7,000 cycles. The cartridge supports various coil termination and voltage configurations, some with surge protection. Interchangeable coils can be mounted in either direction and offer environmental protection ratings up to IP69K. This valve utilizes Sun's floating style construction to minimize internal binding risks due to excessive torque or machining variations. It fits into T31A cavities and belongs to Series 1 with a capacity of 10 gpm (40 L/min). The typical response time is about 50 milliseconds, while it can handle a maximum switching frequency of 15,000 cycles per hour. The maximum valve leakage at 110 SUS (24 cSt) is rated at 10 in\u00b3/min at 3000 psi (160 cc/min at 210 bar). Installation requires a torque between 30-35 lbf ft (41-47 Nm), and it weighs approximately .60 lb (.30 kg). Seal kits are available for both cartridge and coil components using Viton materials.

This solenoid-operated 4-way, 2-position cartridge is a direct-acting, balanced spool directional valve.

  • The solenoid tube assembly is fatigue rated for 5000 psi (350 bar) service.
  • This valve is direct actuated and requires no minimum hydraulic pressure for operation.
  • This cartridge has several manual override choices, including no manual override. See the CONFIGURATION section. Please note: Manual override functionality is not compatible with weatherized coils.
  • On models equipped with the D or L control, the detent mechanism in the manual override is meant for temporary actuation. The D, L and T manual control assembly has a mechanical life expectancy of approximately 7,000 cycles.
  • Cartridges with EPDM seals are for use in systems with phosphate ester fluids. Exposure to petroleum based fluids, greases and lubricants will damage the seals.
  • This valve utilizes a wet armature design. This means that the working fluid surrounds the armature and is exposed to the heat generated by the coil. This can be a factor if the coil is energized for long periods of time. Some fluids, notably water/glycol mixtures, break down at these temperatures over time and form varnishes that will affect the function of the cartridge.
  • A wide variety of coil termination and voltage options are available, with and without surge protection. See the CONFIGURATION section.
  • The solenoid's unique magnetic design results in a high efficiency solenoid, yielding high spool actuating force per Watt expended, leading to reliable valve shifting.
  • Coils are interchangeable with other Sun Series 1 solenoid products and can be mounted on the tube in either direction.
  • Coil connector options offer ratings up to IP69K. See individual coil product pages for details. Additional weatherized coils and kits are available for more complete environmental protection.
  • Incorporates the Sun floating style construction to minimize the possibility of internal parts binding due to excessive installation torque and/or cavity/cartridge machining variations.
