The Sun Hydraulics DNDAXXV814N (DNDAXXV814N) is a solenoid-operated, 4-way, 2-position cartridge valve designed for direct-acting, balanced spool directional control. This robust valve is engineered to operate under high-pressure conditions, with a fatigue rating suitable for service up to 5000 psi (350 bar). It features a wet armature design that allows the working fluid to cool the solenoid coil, although caution is advised when using fluids susceptible to heat degradation, such as water-glycol mixtures. The valve requires no minimum hydraulic pressure for operation and offers several manual override options, though not all are compatible with weatherized coils. The manual override mechanism has a mechanical life expectancy of approximately 7,000 cycles. The DNDAXXV814N model incorporates Sun's floating style construction to mitigate issues related to internal part binding from excessive installation torque or machining variations. It supports a maximum flow capacity of 10 gpm (40 L/min) and can handle switching frequencies up to 15,000 cycles per hour. The solenoid's magnetic design enhances efficiency by providing high spool actuating force per watt consumed, ensuring dependable valve shifting. This cartridge valve offers various coil termination and voltage configurations, some with surge protection capabilities. Coils are interchangeable within Sun Series 1 solenoid products and can be mounted bidirectionally on the tube. Additionally, coil connector options are rated up to IP69K for enhanced environmental protection. The standard cavity size for this model is T-31A with a capacity for leakage at maximum of 10 in\u00b3/min at 3000 psi (160 cc/min at 210 bar). The installation torque ranges between 30 - 35 lbf ft (41 - 47 Nm), and it comes equipped with Viton seal kits for both cartridge and coil applications.

This solenoid-operated 4-way, 2-position cartridge is a direct-acting, balanced spool directional valve.

  • The solenoid tube assembly is fatigue rated for 5000 psi (350 bar) service.
  • This valve is direct actuated and requires no minimum hydraulic pressure for operation.
  • This cartridge has several manual override choices, including no manual override. See the CONFIGURATION section. Please note: Manual override functionality is not compatible with weatherized coils.
  • On models equipped with the D or L control, the detent mechanism in the manual override is meant for temporary actuation. The D, L and T manual control assembly has a mechanical life expectancy of approximately 7,000 cycles.
  • Cartridges with EPDM seals are for use in systems with phosphate ester fluids. Exposure to petroleum based fluids, greases and lubricants will damage the seals.
  • This valve utilizes a wet armature design. This means that the working fluid surrounds the armature and is exposed to the heat generated by the coil. This can be a factor if the coil is energized for long periods of time. Some fluids, notably water/glycol mixtures, break down at these temperatures over time and form varnishes that will affect the function of the cartridge.
  • A wide variety of coil termination and voltage options are available, with and without surge protection. See the CONFIGURATION section.
  • The solenoid's unique magnetic design results in a high efficiency solenoid, yielding high spool actuating force per Watt expended, leading to reliable valve shifting.
  • Coils are interchangeable with other Sun Series 1 solenoid products and can be mounted on the tube in either direction.
  • Coil connector options offer ratings up to IP69K. See individual coil product pages for details. Additional weatherized coils and kits are available for more complete environmental protection.
  • Incorporates the Sun floating style construction to minimize the possibility of internal parts binding due to excessive installation torque and/or cavity/cartridge machining variations.
