The Sun Hydraulics DNDCXYE228 (DNDCXYE228) is a direct-acting, solenoid-operated, 4-way, 3-position spool valve that is spring-centered to the neutral position. When coil A is energized, the flow transitions from port 3 P to port 2 A and from port 4 B to port 1 T. Conversely, energizing coil B directs flow from port 3 to port 4 and from port 2 to port 1. This valve features a solenoid tube assembly fatigue-rated for service up to 5000 psi (350 bar) and operates without requiring minimum hydraulic pressure. In differential flow circuits, directing higher return flow through port 2 A to port 1 T is recommended. The valve is designed with EPDM seals suitable for systems utilizing phosphate ester fluids; however, exposure to petroleum-based fluids can damage these seals. The wet armature design allows working fluid exposure around the armature, which may affect performance if the coil remains energized over extended periods due to heat. Various coil termination and voltage options are available with or without surge protection. The unique magnetic design of the solenoid ensures high efficiency with significant spool actuating force per Watt expended, promoting reliable valve shifting.
