The Sun Hydraulics DNDYLXV612 (DNDYLXV612) is a solenoid-operated 6-way, 2-position cartridge valve designed for selecting between two separate circuits. In its de-energized state, it connects ports P and T to the first circuit, and when energized, it connects them to the second circuit. This valve is direct-acting and requires no minimum hydraulic pressure for operation, making it versatile for various applications. It features a fatigue-rated solenoid tube assembly suitable for 5000 psi (350 bar) service. The design incorporates a wet armature, which means the working fluid surrounds the armature and can be exposed to heat generated by the coil; this should be considered if the coil is energized for extended periods. The DNDYLXV612 offers several manual override options, including configurations without manual override; however, manual override functionality does not support weatherized coils. The high-efficiency solenoid design provides robust spool actuation with minimal energy expenditure. Coils are interchangeable with other Sun Series 1 solenoid products and can be mounted in either direction on the tube. Coil connector options provide ratings up to IP69K for enhanced environmental protection. This cartridge valve uses Sun's floating style construction to reduce internal part binding risks due to excessive installation torque or cavity machining variations. It fits into cavity T-61A of Series 1 with a capacity of 5 gpm (20 L/min) and has a maximum operating pressure of 5000 psi (350 bar). The typical response time is around 50 ms, with maximum valve leakage at 5 in\u00b3/min at 3000 psi (80 cc/min at 210 bar). It supports a switching frequency of up to 15,000 cycles per hour. The valve weighs approximately .60 lb (0.30 kg) and includes Viton seal kits for both the cartridge and coil assemblies.

This solenoid-operated 6-way, 2-position cartridge is a direct-acting, balanced spool valve. The typical use for this valve is to select between two separate circuits. The de-energized condition connects P and T to the first circuit and when energized connects P and T to the second circuit.
- The solenoid tube assembly is fatigue rated for 5000 psi (350 bar) service.
- This valve is direct actuated and requires no minimum hydraulic pressure for operation.
- On models equipped with the D or L control, the detent mechanism in the manual override is meant for temporary actuation. The D, L and T manual control assembly has a mechanical life expectancy of approximately 7,000 cycles.
- This cartridge has several manual override choices, including no manual override. See the CONFIGURATION section. Please note: Manual override functionality is not compatible with weatherized coils.
- This valve utilizes a wet armature design. This means that the working fluid surrounds the armature and is exposed to the heat generated by the coil. This can be a factor if the coil is energized for long periods of time. Some fluids, notably water/glycol mixtures, break down at these temperatures over time and form varnishes that will affect the function of the cartridge.
- A wide variety of coil termination and voltage options are available, with and without surge protection. See the CONFIGURATION section.
- The solenoid's unique magnetic design results in a high efficiency solenoid, yielding high spool actuating force per Watt expended, leading to reliable valve shifting.
- Coils are interchangeable with other Sun Series 1 solenoid products and can be mounted on the tube in either direction.
- Coil connector options offer ratings up to IP69K. See individual coil product pages for details. Additional weatherized coils and kits are available for more complete environmental protection.
- Incorporates the Sun floating style construction to minimize the possibility of internal parts binding due to excessive installation torque and/or cavity/cartridge machining variations.
