The Sun Hydraulics DOHPLAV (Material Number: DOHPLAV) is a normally open, balanced poppet switching element designed for high-pressure hydraulic systems. This component utilizes unique balanced construction to provide predictable switching performance at pressures up to 5000 psi (350 bar) between port 1 and port 2. The valve remains open under pilot pressure applied to port 3 until the pressure reaches the setting established by the integral pilot relief stage, prompting the poppet to shift to a closed position. Importantly, any backpressure at the drain port directly influences the valve setting. The valve reopens when pilot pressure falls below 145 psi (10 bar). The DOHPLAV features hydraulic balancing between ports 1 and 2, ensuring they are fully sealed from ports 3 and 4, which are also positively sealed. This design results in a very low leakage rate between ports 1 and 2, typically less than 10 drops per minute at maximum operating pressure. All ports can accommodate pressures up to 5000 psi (350 bar). It includes an adjustment screw with an internal hex size of 5/32 inches (4 mm) and a locknut hex size of 9/16 inches (15 mm), torqued at 80-90 lbf in (9-10 Nm). A Viton seal kit is available for maintenance needs.

This is a normally open, balanced poppet, switching element. When pilot pressure is applied to port 3, the poppet remains open until the pilot pressure reaches the setting established by the integral pilot relief stage, at which point the poppet shifts to the closed position.
