The Sun Hydraulics DOHPLWV (DOHPLWV) is a normally open, balanced poppet switching element designed for precise hydraulic control applications. This component remains open when pilot pressure is applied to port 3 until the pressure reaches a pre-set level determined by the integral pilot relief stage, at which point it shifts to a closed position. Its unique balanced construction allows for predictable switching with operating pressures up to 5000 psi (350 bar) at both port 1 and port 2. The valve will reopen when pilot pressure falls below 145 psi (10 bar), ensuring reliable operation across varying conditions. The DOHPLWV model features hydraulically balanced ports between port 1 and port 2, with full sealing from ports 3 and 4, minimizing leakage to less than 10 drops per minute at maximum pressure. The design incorporates Sun's floating style construction, reducing the risk of internal binding due to excessive installation torque or machining variations. With a capacity of up to 60 gpm (240 L/min), this valve is suitable for high-flow applications. The valve requires a minimum pilot pressure of 300 psi (20 bar) to shift and accommodates backpressure at the drain port as an additive factor to the valve setting. It fits into a T-23A cavity and has specific installation requirements, including a hex size of 1-1/4 inches (31.8 mm) and an installation torque range of 150-160 lbf ft (203-217 Nm). The adjustment screw has an internal hex size of 5/32 inches (4 mm), while the locknut requires a torque of 80-90 lbf in (9-10 Nm). For maintenance, it uses a Viton seal kit with part number 990023006.

This is a normally open, balanced poppet, switching element. When pilot pressure is applied to port 3, the poppet remains open until the pilot pressure reaches the setting established by the integral pilot relief stage, at which point the poppet shifts to the closed position.
