The Sun Hydraulics DOHSXHE (DOHSXHE) is a normally open, balanced poppet switching element designed for high-pressure hydraulic systems. It operates with a pilot pressure at port 3 that shifts the valve to a closed position, providing predictable switching capabilities even under high pressures of up to 5000 psi (350 bar) at both ports 1 and 2, given that the external drain is open. The valve requires a minimum pilot pressure of 300 psi (20 bar) to function effectively, and any backpressure at the drain port will increase the necessary pilot pressure for reliable operation. This model features a low leakage rate between ports 1 and 2, typically less than 10 drops/min at maximum pressure. It also reseats when the pilot pressure falls below 145 psi (10 bar). The DOHSXHE is built with EPDM seals suitable for systems using phosphate ester fluids, while exposure to petroleum-based fluids should be avoided as it may damage the seals.
