The Sun Hydraulics DOHSXHV (DOHSXHV) is a normally open, balanced poppet switching element designed for hydraulic systems requiring precise control and reliability under high pressure. This valve shifts to a closed position when pilot pressure is applied at port 3, with a minimum required pilot pressure of 300 psi (20 bar). Its unique balanced construction allows for predictable switching with pressures up to 5000 psi (350 bar) at both ports 1 and 2, ensuring stable operation even under demanding conditions. The valve's design ensures that port 1 and port 2 are fully sealed from ports 3 and 4, with all ports capable of handling up to 5000 psi (350 bar). The leakage rate between port 1 and port 2 is minimal, typically less than 10 drops per minute at maximum operating pressure, making it highly efficient in maintaining system integrity. This component features Sun's floating style construction to minimize internal binding due to installation torque or machining variations. It requires an external drain, and any backpressure at the drain port will add directly to the pilot pressure needed for reliable operation. The valve will reseat when pilot pressure falls below 145 psi (10 bar), offering dependable performance in dynamic applications. It fits into a T-23A cavity and has a flow capacity of up to 60 gpm (240 L/min). For systems using phosphate ester fluids, cartridges with EPDM seals are available; however, exposure to petroleum-based fluids should be avoided as it can damage these seals. Installation requires a torque of 150-160 lbf ft (203-217 Nm), ensuring secure placement in hydraulic circuits.

This is a normally open, balanced poppet, switching element. Pilot pressure at port 3 shifts the valve to the closed position.

  • Unique balanced construction provides predictable switching with 5000 psi (350 bar) at both ports 1 and 2, with the external drain open and a minimum pilot pressure of 300 psi (20 bar).
  • Port 1 and port 2 are fully sealed from port 3 and port 4. Ports 3 and 4 are positively sealed.
  • Any backpressure at the drain port is directly additive to the required pilot pressure for reliable operation.
  • Leakage rate between port 1 and port 2 is very low, typically less than 10 drops/min. at 5000 psi (0,7 cc/min at 350 bar).
  • Valve will reseat when the pilot pressure falls below 145 psi (10 bar).
  • Cartridges with EPDM seals are for use in systems with phosphate ester fluids. Exposure to petroleum based fluids, greases and lubricants will damage the seals.
  • These valves are hydraulically balanced between port 1 and port 2.
  • All ports will accept 5000 psi (350 bar).
  • Incorporates the Sun floating style construction to minimize the possibility of internal parts binding due to excessive installation torque and/or cavity/cartridge machining variations.
