The Sun Hydraulics DPBBCCV (DPBBCCV) is a normally closed, pilot-operated, 2-way directional cartridge valve designed for moderate flow circuits. This versatile valve can function independently or act as an actuator for larger pilot-operated directional or logic cartridges. It operates by shifting when the pressure differential between port 1 and port 3 surpasses a predetermined setting, with pressure at port 3 being directly additive to this setting. Due to this feature, port 3 may not be suitable as a work port in certain circuit designs; in such cases, a 4-port version might be more appropriate. The DPBBCCV model is not bistable and has the capability to modulate between two positions based on pilot pressure exceeding the valve setting. It incorporates Sun's floating style construction to minimize internal part binding caused by excessive torque or machining variations during installation. This cartridge fits into T-11A cavities and belongs to Series 1, offering a capacity of 7 gpm (28 L/min). It has a maximum operating pressure of 5000 psi (350 bar) and factory pressure settings established at 4 gpm (15 L/min). The control pilot flow ranges from 7 to 10 in\u00b3/min (0.11 to 0.16 L/min), with maximum valve leakage at 110 SUS (24 cSt) being limited to 1 in\u00b3/min at 1000 psi (15 cc/min at 70 bar). The adjustment involves up to five clockwise turns to increase the setting, with specific torque requirements for installation and locknut adjustments. The valve features an internal hex size of 5/32 inches (4 mm) for the adjustment screw and weighs approximately .60 lb (.30 kg). A Viton seal kit is available under part number 990011006 for maintenance purposes.

Normally closed, pilot-operated, 2-way directional cartridges are switching devices typically used in moderate flow circuits. They can be used by themselves or to actuate larger pilot-operated directional cartridges or logic cartridges. The valve shifts when the pressure differential between port 1 and port 3 exceeds the setting.
- Pressure at port 3 is directly additive to the setting of the valve. Because of this, port 3 may not be useable as a work port in your circuit. If this is a consideration, the 4 port version of this valve may be a solution.
- Direct-acting and pilot-operated versions of these valves are interchangeable. They fit the same cavities and have the same flow paths.
- This valve is not bistable; it is capable of modulating between the two positions shown.
- When pilot pressure exceeds the valve setting, pilot flow may be a consideration. See performance curves for pilot consumption vs. load pressure above the valve setting. If this is a problem, the direct acting version of this valve would be a solution.
- Incorporates the Sun floating style construction to minimize the possibility of internal parts binding due to excessive installation torque and/or cavity/cartridge machining variations.
