The Sun Hydraulics DPBBLCV (DPBBLCV) is a normally closed, pilot-operated, 2-way directional cartridge valve designed for use in moderate flow circuits. This versatile valve can function independently or be used to actuate larger pilot-operated directional cartridges or logic cartridges. It operates by shifting when the pressure differential between port 1 and port 3 surpasses the pre-set value, with pressure at port 3 being directly additive to the setting. Therefore, port 3 may not be suitable as a work port unless using the 4-port version of this valve. The DPBBLCV is capable of modulating between two positions but is not bistable. It features Sun's floating style construction to reduce internal binding due to excessive installation torque or machining variations. Key specifications include a T-11A cavity, series 1 classification, and a capacity of 7 gpm (28 L/min). Factory pressure settings are established at 4 gpm (15 L/min), with a maximum operating pressure of 5000 psi (350 bar). The control pilot flow ranges from 7 to 10 in\u00b3/min (0.11 to 0.16 L/min), with maximum valve leakage at approximately 1 in\u00b3/min (1000 psi/15 cc/min/70 bar). The adjustment requires up to five clockwise turns to increase settings, and the valve hex size is .78 inches (22.2 mm). Installation torque ranges from 30-35 lbf-ft (41-47 Nm), while locknut torque is set between 80-90 lbf-in (9-10 Nm). The DPBBLCV's design ensures compatibility with direct-acting valves within the same cavity and flow paths, offering flexibility in various applications requiring precise modulation and control within hydraulic systems.

Normally closed, pilot-operated, 2-way directional cartridges are switching devices typically used in moderate flow circuits. They can be used by themselves or to actuate larger pilot-operated directional cartridges or logic cartridges. The valve shifts when the pressure differential between port 1 and port 3 exceeds the setting.

  • Pressure at port 3 is directly additive to the setting of the valve. Because of this, port 3 may not be useable as a work port in your circuit. If this is a consideration, the 4 port version of this valve may be a solution.
  • Direct-acting and pilot-operated versions of these valves are interchangeable. They fit the same cavities and have the same flow paths.
  • This valve is not bistable; it is capable of modulating between the two positions shown.
  • When pilot pressure exceeds the valve setting, pilot flow may be a consideration. See performance curves for pilot consumption vs. load pressure above the valve setting. If this is a problem, the direct acting version of this valve would be a solution.
  • Incorporates the Sun floating style construction to minimize the possibility of internal parts binding due to excessive installation torque and/or cavity/cartridge machining variations.
