The Sun Hydraulics DRBAKSV (DRBAKSV) is a normally open, direct-acting, 2-way directional cartridge valve designed for moderate flow circuits. It can function independently or be used to actuate larger pilot-operated directional cartridges or logic cartridges. The valve operates by shifting when the pressure differential between port 1 and port 3 exceeds a preset level, with the pressure at port 3 being directly additive to the valve setting. Users should note that port 3 may not be suitable as a work port in some circuits; if this is an issue, a 4-port version may be more appropriate. This cartridge features low internal leakage and minimal pilot flow consumption due to its direct-acting design. Notably, direct-acting and pilot-operated versions are interchangeable, fitting the same cavities and having identical flow paths. The DRBAKSV is not bistable, meaning it can modulate between two positions rather than just switching from one to another. It incorporates Sun's floating style construction, which reduces the risk of internal parts binding from excessive installation torque or cavity-cartridge machining variations. Key technical specifications include its T-11A cavity size, Series 1 classification, and a capacity of 7 gpm (28 L/min). The factory pressure settings are established at 4 gpm (15 L/min), with a maximum operating pressure of 5000 psi (350 bar). The maximum valve leakage at 110 SUS (24 cSt) is rated at 2 in\u00b3/min (30 cc/min). Adjustment involves turning clockwise up to five turns to increase settings, with specific torque requirements for installation and adjustments provided for optimal performance.

Normally open, direct-acting, 2-way directional cartridges are switching devices typically used in moderate flow circuits. They can be used by themselves or to actuate larger pilot-operated directional cartridges or logic cartridges. The valve shifts when the pressure differential between port 1 and port 3 exceeds the setting.

  • Pressure at port 3 is directly additive to the setting of the valve. Because of this, port 3 may not be useable as a work port in your circuit. If this is a consideration, the 4 port version of this valve may be a solution.
  • Because of their direct-acting design, these cartridges feature low internal leakage and low pilot flow consumption.
  • Direct-acting and pilot-operated versions of these valves are interchangeable. They fit the same cavities and have the same flow paths.
  • This valve is not bistable; it is capable of modulating between the two positions shown.
  • Incorporates the Sun floating style construction to minimize the possibility of internal parts binding due to excessive installation torque and/or cavity/cartridge machining variations.
