The Sun Hydraulics DRBBCBN (DRBBCBN) is a normally closed, direct-acting, 2-way directional cartridge valve designed for moderate flow circuits. It functions as a switching device and can operate independently or actuate larger pilot-operated directional cartridges or logic cartridges. The valve activates when the pressure differential between port 1 and port 3 surpasses the set level. Notably, pressure at port 3 directly adds to the valve setting, which may restrict its use as a work port in certain circuits; in such cases, a 4-port version might be more suitable. This direct-acting design ensures low internal leakage and minimal pilot flow consumption. Additionally, direct-acting and pilot-operated versions are interchangeable due to their compatibility with the same cavities and flow paths. The DRBBCBN is not bistable; it can modulate between two positions. It incorporates Sun's floating style construction to reduce internal part binding from excessive installation torque or machining variations in cavity-cartridge interfaces. The valve fits into a T-11A cavity with a series 1 capacity of up to 7 gpm (28 L/min). Factory pressure settings are established at 4 gpm (15 L/min), with a maximum operating pressure of 5000 psi (350 bar). Maximum valve leakage is limited to 2 in\u00b3/min (30 cc/min) at 110 SUS (24 cSt). Adjustments are made via clockwise turns for increased settings, with specific hex size requirements for adjustment screws and locknuts. This model weighs approximately .60 lb (.30 kg) and uses Viton seals available under seal kit number 990011006. Its robust design makes it ideal for applications needing fast response times, dirt tolerance, stability, and robustness in preventing overpressure scenarios.

Normally closed, direct-acting, 2-way directional cartridges are switching devices typically used in moderate flow circuits. They can be used by themselves or to actuate larger pilot-operated directional cartridges or logic cartridges. The valve shifts when the pressure differential between port 1 and port 3 exceeds the setting.

  • Pressure at port 3 is directly additive to the setting of the valve. Because of this, port 3 may not be useable as a work port in your circuit. If this is a consideration, the 4 port version of this valve may be a solution.
  • Because of their direct-acting design, these cartridges feature low internal leakage and low pilot flow consumption.
  • Direct-acting and pilot-operated versions of these valves are interchangeable. They fit the same cavities and have the same flow paths.
  • This valve is not bistable; it is capable of modulating between the two positions shown.
  • Incorporates the Sun floating style construction to minimize the possibility of internal parts binding due to excessive installation torque and/or cavity/cartridge machining variations.
