The Sun Hydraulics DRBBCSV (DRBBCSV) is a normally closed, direct-acting, 2-way directional cartridge valve designed for moderate flow circuits. This versatile component can function independently or be used to actuate larger pilot-operated directional cartridges or logic cartridges. The valve shifts when the pressure differential between port 1 and port 3 exceeds a pre-set threshold, with pressure at port 3 being directly additive to this setting. It is important to note that port 3 may not be suitable as a work port in certain circuit designs; in such cases, a 4-port version of this valve might be more appropriate. Featuring low internal leakage and pilot flow consumption due to its direct-acting design, the DRBBCSV is interchangeable with pilot-operated versions, fitting the same cavities and having identical flow paths. This model is capable of modulating between two positions rather than being bistable. Its construction incorporates Sun's floating style design to minimize binding risks from excessive installation torque or machining variations. The DRBBCSV fits into cavity T-11A and belongs to Series 1 with a capacity of handling up to 7 gpm (28 L/min). Factory pressure settings are established at 4 gpm (15 L/min), with a maximum operating pressure of up to 5000 psi (350 bar). The valve allows for adjustments with up to five clockwise turns increasing the setting, featuring specific hex sizes for both the valve and locknut. Installation requires a torque range of 30 - 35 lbf ft (41 - 47 Nm), while the locknut requires an additional torque range of 80 - 90 lbf in (9 -10 Nm). The model weighs approximately .60 lb (.30 kg) and utilizes Viton seal kits for enhanced durability.

Normally closed, direct-acting, 2-way directional cartridges are switching devices typically used in moderate flow circuits. They can be used by themselves or to actuate larger pilot-operated directional cartridges or logic cartridges. The valve shifts when the pressure differential between port 1 and port 3 exceeds the setting.

  • Pressure at port 3 is directly additive to the setting of the valve. Because of this, port 3 may not be useable as a work port in your circuit. If this is a consideration, the 4 port version of this valve may be a solution.
  • Because of their direct-acting design, these cartridges feature low internal leakage and low pilot flow consumption.
  • Direct-acting and pilot-operated versions of these valves are interchangeable. They fit the same cavities and have the same flow paths.
  • This valve is not bistable; it is capable of modulating between the two positions shown.
  • Incorporates the Sun floating style construction to minimize the possibility of internal parts binding due to excessive installation torque and/or cavity/cartridge machining variations.
