The Sun Hydraulics DRBBLEV (DRBBLEV) is a normally closed, direct-acting, 2-way directional cartridge valve designed for moderate flow circuits. It operates by shifting when the pressure differential between port 1 and port 3 exceeds a specified setting, with pressure at port 3 directly adding to this setting. This design consideration means that port 3 may not be suitable as a work port in certain circuits; in such cases, a 4-port version might be preferable. The valve's direct-acting nature ensures low internal leakage and minimal pilot flow consumption, making it highly efficient. These cartridges are interchangeable with pilot-operated versions, sharing the same cavities and flow paths. They feature Sun's floating style construction to reduce the risk of internal binding due to excessive installation torque or machining variations. The DRBBLEV fits into cavity T-11A and is part of Series 1 with a capacity of up to 7 gpm (28 L/min). Factory pressure settings are established at 4 gpm (15 L/min), with a maximum operating pressure of 5000 psi (350 bar). The valve exhibits a maximum leakage rate of 2 in³/min (30 cc/min) at an oil viscosity of 110 SUS (24 cSt). To adjust the setting, users can make up to five clockwise turns using an internal hex screw size of 5/32 inches (4 mm), secured by a locknut requiring a torque of 80-90 lbf·in (9-10 Nm). The valve itself has a hex size of 7/8 inches (22.2 mm) and requires an installation torque between 30-35 lbf·ft (41-47 Nm). The model weighs approximately .60 lb (.30 kg) and uses Viton seal kits for maintenance.

Normally closed, direct-acting, 2-way directional cartridges are switching devices typically used in moderate flow circuits. They can be used by themselves or to actuate larger pilot-operated directional cartridges or logic cartridges. The valve shifts when the pressure differential between port 1 and port 3 exceeds the setting.

• Pressure at port 3 is directly additive to the setting of the valve. Because of this, port 3 may not be useable as a work port in your circuit. If this is a consideration, the 4 port version of this valve may be a solution.
• Because of their direct-acting design, these cartridges feature low internal leakage and low pilot flow consumption.
• Direct-acting and pilot-operated versions of these valves are interchangeable. They fit the same cavities and have the same flow paths.
• This valve is not bistable; it is capable of modulating between the two positions shown.
• Incorporates the Sun floating style construction to minimize the possibility of internal parts binding due to excessive installation torque and/or cavity/cartridge machining variations.
