The Sun Hydraulics DRBCLDN (DRBCLDN) is a direct-acting, 3-way directional cartridge valve designed for moderate flow circuits. This model features one blocked port and an open flow path between ports 2 and 3, making it suitable for applications requiring switching devices. It can be used independently or to actuate larger pilot-operated directional or logic cartridges. The valve shifts when the pressure differential between port 1 and port 3 exceeds the preset setting, with pressure at port 3 directly adding to the setting value. Due to this characteristic, port 3 may not be suitable as a work port in all circuit designs; a four-port version might be required in such cases. The DRBCLDN valve boasts low internal leakage and minimal pilot flow consumption due to its direct-acting design. It is interchangeable with pilot-operated versions, sharing identical cavities and flow paths. This valve is not bistable but can modulate between two positions, incorporating Sun's floating style construction to reduce the risk of internal parts binding from excessive installation torque or machining variations. With a T11A cavity and series 1 capacity of up to 7 gpm (28 L/min), this model operates at a maximum pressure of 5000 psi (350 bar). Factory pressure settings are established at a flow rate of 4 gpm (15 L/min), with maximum valve leakage rated at 2 in\u00b3/min (30 cc/min). The adjustment mechanism allows up to five clockwise turns to increase settings, with specific hex sizes designated for various components during installation and adjustments. The valve weighs approximately .60 lb (.30 kg) and includes a Viton seal kit option for enhanced durability under various operational conditions.

Direct-acting, 3-way directional cartridges (1 blocked, 2 to 3 open) are switching devices typically used in moderate flow circuits. They can be used by themselves or to actuate larger pilot-operated directional cartridges or logic cartridges. The valve shifts when the pressure differential between port 1 and port 3 exceeds the setting.

  • Pressure at port 3 is directly additive to the setting of the valve. Because of this, port 3 may not be useable as a work port in your circuit. If this is a consideration, the 4 port version of this valve may be a solution.
  • Because of their direct-acting design, these cartridges feature low internal leakage and low pilot flow consumption.
  • Direct-acting and pilot-operated versions of these valves are interchangeable. They fit the same cavities and have the same flow paths.
  • This valve is not bistable; it is capable of modulating between the two positions shown.
  • Incorporates the Sun floating style construction to minimize the possibility of internal parts binding due to excessive installation torque and/or cavity/cartridge machining variations.
