The Sun Hydraulics DRBDKBN (Material Number: DRBDKBN) is a direct-acting, 3-way directional cartridge valve designed for moderate flow circuits. This valve provides an efficient solution for switching applications where port 1 to 2 is open and port 3 is blocked. It can be used independently or to actuate larger pilot-operated directional cartridges or logic cartridges. The valve operates by shifting when the pressure differential between port 1 and port 3 exceeds its set value, with pressure at port 3 being directly additive to the setting. Due to this feature, port 3 may not be suitable as a work port in some circuits, but a 4-port version of this valve could address such concerns. The DRBDKBN valve features low internal leakage and pilot flow consumption due to its direct-acting design. It is interchangeable with pilot-operated versions, sharing the same cavity dimensions (T-11A) and flow paths. The valve is capable of modulating between two positions rather than being bistable. It incorporates Sun's floating style construction, which minimizes potential binding of internal parts due to excessive installation torque or machining variations. This model has a capacity of up to 7 gallons per minute (28 liters per minute) and operates at a maximum pressure of 5000 psi (350 bar). The factory pressure settings are established at a flow rate of 4 gpm (15 L/min). Furthermore, it exhibits minimal leakage with a maximum rate of 2 in\u00b3/min (30 cc/min) at 110 SUS (24 cSt). Installation requires specific torque values for both the valve hex size and locknut hex size, ensuring secure and reliable operation in various applications.

Direct-acting, 3-way directional cartridges (1 to 2 open, 3 blocked) are switching devices typically used in moderate flow circuits. They can be used by themselves or to actuate larger pilot-operated directional cartridges or logic cartridges. The valve shifts when the pressure differential between port 1 and port 3 exceeds the setting.

  • Pressure at port 3 is directly additive to the setting of the valve. Because of this, port 3 may not be useable as a work port in your circuit. If this is a consideration, the 4 port version of this valve may be a solution.
  • Because of their direct-acting design, these cartridges feature low internal leakage and low pilot flow consumption.
  • Direct-acting and pilot-operated versions of these valves are interchangeable. They fit the same cavities and have the same flow paths.
  • This valve is not bistable; it is capable of modulating between the two positions shown.
  • Incorporates the Sun floating style construction to minimize the possibility of internal parts binding due to excessive installation torque and/or cavity/cartridge machining variations.
