The Sun Hydraulics DRBMOSV (DRBMOSV) is a normally open, direct-acting, 2-way directional cartridge valve designed for moderate flow circuits. It can function independently or be used to actuate larger pilot-operated directional or logic cartridges. This valve operates by shifting when the pressure differential between port 1 and port 4 exceeds its set value. Port 3 serves as a work port, and the flow path between ports 2 and 3 is bidirectional. Featuring low internal leakage and pilot flow consumption due to its direct-acting design, the DRBMOSV offers interchangeability with pilot-operated versions, fitting the same cavities and maintaining consistent flow paths. The pressure at port 4 directly adds to the valve's setting, allowing modulation between two positions without being bistable. It incorporates Sun's floating style construction to prevent internal part binding from excessive installation torque or machining variations in cavity/cartridge interfaces. The valve has a capacity of 7 gpm (28 L/min), with factory pressure settings established at 4 gpm (15 L/min). It supports a maximum operating pressure of 5000 psi (350 bar) and limits maximum pressure at port 3 to 3000 psi (210 bar) due to fatigue strength considerations. The maximum valve leakage at 110 SUS (24 cSt) is specified as 2 in\u00b3/min (30 cc/min). For adjustment, there are up to five clockwise turns available to increase settings, with specific torque requirements for installation and locknut adjustments provided for precise setup. The DRBMOSV includes a Viton seal kit option for enhanced durability in various applications.

Normally open, direct-acting, 2-way directional cartridges are switching devices typically used in moderate flow circuits. They can be used by themselves or to actuate larger pilot operated directional cartridges or logic cartridges. The valve shifts when the pressure differential between port 1 and port 4 exceeds the setting.
- Port 3 can be used as a work port.
- The flow path between port 2 and port 3 is bidirectional.
- Because of their direct-acting design, these cartridges feature low internal leakage and low pilot flow consumption.
- Direct-acting and pilot-operated versions of these valves are interchangeable. They fit the same cavities and have the same flow paths.
- Pressure at port 4 is directly additive to the setting of the valve.
- This valve is not bistable; it is capable of modulating between the two positions shown.
- Maximum pressure at port 3 should be limited to 3000 psi (210 bar). This is due to fatigue strength limits not hydraulic operating limits.
- Incorporates the Sun floating style construction to minimize the possibility of internal parts binding due to excessive installation torque and/or cavity/cartridge machining variations.
