The Sun Hydraulics DRCCLDV (DRCCLDV) is a direct-acting, 3-way directional cartridge valve designed for moderate flow circuits. This versatile component can function independently or be used to actuate larger pilot-operated directional or logic cartridges. It operates by shifting when the pressure differential between port 1 and port 3 surpasses the preset threshold. Notably, pressure at port 3 adds directly to the valve's setting, which may restrict its use as a work port in certain applications; in such cases, a 4-port version might be more suitable. The DRCCLDV features low internal leakage and minimal pilot flow consumption due to its direct-acting design. Additionally, it is interchangeable with pilot-operated versions, sharing cavity compatibility and flow paths. However, this valve is not bistable and can modulate between two positions. Constructed with Sun's floating style design, it minimizes internal part binding risks caused by excessive installation torque or machining variations in the cavity/cartridge interface. Direct-acting, 3-way directional cartridges (1 blocked, 2 to 3 open) are switching devices typically used in moderate flow circuits. They can be used by themselves or to actuate larger pilot-operated directional cartridges or logic cartridges. The valve shifts when the pressure differential between port 1 and port 3 exceeds the setting.
