The Sun Hydraulics DRCOKEV (DRCOKEV) is a direct-acting, 3-way directional cartridge valve designed for moderate flow circuits. This versatile valve features one blocked port and an open connection between ports 2 and 3, making it suitable for standalone use or for actuating larger pilot-operated directional or logic cartridges. It operates by shifting when the pressure differential between port 1 and port 4 surpasses the set threshold. Port 3 can serve as a work port, with maximum allowable pressure capped at 3000 psi (210 bar) due to fatigue strength limitations. Notably, the design of this valve ensures low internal leakage and minimal pilot flow consumption. The DRCOKEV is interchangeable with pilot-operated versions, fitting the same cavities and offering identical flow paths. The valve incorporates Sun's floating style construction to reduce the risk of binding from excessive installation torque or machining variations. It fits in a T-22A cavity and belongs to Series 2, with a capacity of up to 15 gpm (60 L/min). Factory pressure settings are established at a flow rate of 4 gpm (15 L/min), while its maximum operating pressure reaches up to 5000 psi (350 bar). The maximum valve leakage is limited to 2 in\u00b3/min (30 cc/min) at a viscosity of 110 SUS (24 cSt). Adjustment of the setting requires approximately five clockwise turns. The DRCOKEV has specific installation requirements, including a valve hex size of 1-1/8 inches (28.6 mm) and an installation torque range of 45-50 lbf ft (61-68 Nm). For adjustments, it utilizes an internal hex size of 5/32 inches (4 mm), with a locknut hex size of 9/16 inches (15 mm) and locknut torque between 80-90 lbf in (9-10 Nm). The model weighs approximately .55 lb (.25 kg) and includes a Viton seal kit under part number 990022006.

Direct-acting, 3-way directional cartridges (1 blocked, 2 to 3 open) are switching devices typically used in moderate flow circuits. They can be used by themselves or to actuate larger pilot-operated directional cartridges or logic cartridges. The valve shifts when the pressure differential between port 1 and port 4 exceeds the setting.

  • Port 3 can be used as a work port.
  • Because of their direct-acting design, these cartridges feature low internal leakage and low pilot flow consumption.
  • Direct-acting and pilot-operated versions of these valves are interchangeable. They fit the same cavities and have the same flow paths.
  • Pressure at port 4 is directly additive to the setting of the valve.
  • This valve is not bistable; it is capable of modulating between the two positions shown.
  • Maximum pressure at port 3 should be limited to 3000 psi (210 bar). This is due to fatigue strength limits not hydraulic operating limits.
  • Incorporates the Sun floating style construction to minimize the possibility of internal parts binding due to excessive installation torque and/or cavity/cartridge machining variations.
