The Sun Hydraulics DSCLXGN (DSCLXGN) is a lowside hot oil shuttle cartridge designed to efficiently divert hot oil from the low-pressure side of a closed-loop system. This versatile component is engineered to handle situations where both work ports, ports 2 and 4, are at equal pressures, centering the valve to block all ports. When one work port experiences higher pressure, it connects the opposite work port to the common port, port 3. Notably, this valve does not utilize the nose port 1 and lacks a hydraulic stop, resulting in no pilot flow. It features Sun's floating-style construction to reduce potential binding of internal parts due to excessive installation torque or machining variations. With a capacity of 15 gpm (60 L/min) and a maximum operating pressure of 5000 psi (350 bar), the DSCLXGN is suitable for demanding applications requiring reliable performance under high pressure. The valve exhibits minimal leakage at 110 SUS (24 cSt), with a maximum leakage rate of 1 in/min (1000 psi or 15 cc/min at 70 bar). Installation requires a valve hex size of 7/8 in. (22.2 mm) and an installation torque between 30 - 35 lbf ft (41 - 47 Nm). Weighing just .40 lb (.20 kg), it is lightweight yet robust. The DSCLXGN is compatible with T-31A cavities and belongs to Series 1 valves. It includes Viton seal kits for enhanced durability under various operating conditions. Users are advised to carefully select shift pressures as low shift values may inadvertently cause charge pump pressure alone to shift the valve. This product is ideal for applications where precise control over oil diversion is critical without introducing additional leakage into systems like hydrostatic transmissions that may not tolerate it well.

Low-side (hot oil) shuttle cartridges allow hot oil to be diverted from the low pressure side of a closed loop system. When both work ports (ports 2 and 4) are at equal pressures the valve is spring-centered to an all-ports-blocked position. When one of the work ports (port 2 or 4) sees a higher pressure the opposite work port is connected to the common port (port 3).

  • NOTE: Low shift values can potentially result in charge pump pressure alone inadvertently shifting the valve. Use care when selecting shift pressure.
  • Although this valve goes into a 4-port cavity, the nose (port 1) is not used.
  • This valve does not have a hydraulic stop and therefore has no pilot flow. Some circuits other than hydrostatic transmissions cannot tolerate the added leakage.
  • Incorporates the Sun floating style construction to minimize the possibility of internal parts binding due to excessive installation torque and/or cavity/cartridge machining variations.
