The Sun Hydraulics DSCSXFV (DSCSXFV) is a highside shuttle cartridge designed primarily for use in full-time regeneration circuits. This valve is engineered to provide overrunning load control in regeneration applications where the load tends to extend the cylinder. It features a hardened spool-sleeve construction, which enhances wear characteristics and minimizes cross leakage, though it does not completely prevent drift due to spool leakage. The valve operates by connecting the work port with higher pressure (either port 2 or 4) to the common port (port 3) while being spring-centered to an all-ports-blocked position when both work ports are at equal pressures. Notably, even though it fits into a 4-port cavity, the nose port (port 1) remains unused. The Sun Hydraulics DSCSXFV incorporates floating style construction, minimizing internal part binding due to excessive installation torque or cavity/cartridge machining variations. It fits into a T-31A cavity and belongs to Series 1, with a capacity of 15 gpm (60 L/min) and can withstand a maximum operating pressure of 5000 psi (350 bar). The valve exhibits maximum leakage of 2 in\u00b3/min at 1000 psi (30 cc/min at 70 bar), ensuring efficient operation under specified conditions. The hex size for the valve is 7/8 inch (22.2 mm), and it requires an installation torque between 30 - 35 lbf ft (41 - 47 Nm). Weighing just .40 lb (.20 kg), this model offers optimal performance with minimal weight addition. Additionally, it uses Viton seal kits for enhanced durability and reliability in various hydraulic applications.

High-side shuttle cartridges are most often used in full-time regeneration circuits. When both work ports (ports 2 and 4) are at equal pressures the valve is spring-centered to an all-ports-blocked position. When one of the work ports (port 2 or 4) sees a higher pressure it is connected to the common port (port 3).
- This valve provides overrunning load control in regeneration applications where the load tends to extend the cylinder. Because there is spool leakage, it does not prevent drift.
- Hardened spool/sleeve construction provides excellent wear characteristics and minimizes cross leakage.
- Although this valve goes into a 4-port cavity, the nose (port 1) is not used.
- Incorporates the Sun floating style construction to minimize the possibility of internal parts binding due to excessive installation torque and/or cavity/cartridge machining variations.
