The Sun Hydraulics DSEHXEN (Material Number: DSEHXEN) is a lowside hot oil shuttle cartridge designed for closed loop systems. It efficiently diverts hot oil from the low-pressure side of the system. The valve operates with a unique mechanism that centers to an all-ports-blocked position when work ports 2 and 4 are at equal pressures. If one port experiences higher pressure, the opposite port connects to the common port, port 3. The spool features a hydraulic stop, preventing mechanical impact and internal damage, allowing for a small pilot flow from high-pressure work ports to the common port. An advantage of this hydraulic stop is that it permits confirmation of the hot oil relief setting with the transmission in neutral. However, caution should be exercised when selecting shift pressure due to potential low shift values causing inadvertent valve shifts by charge pump pressure alone. The valve fits into a T32A cavity and is part of Series 2, offering a capacity of 20 gpm (80 L/min) and handling a maximum operating pressure of 5000 psi (350 bar). It maintains pilot flow at 23 in\u00b3/min (0.38 L/min). The design incorporates Sun's floating style construction, minimizing internal part binding from excessive installation torque or machining variations. Low-side (hot oil) shuttle cartridges allow hot oil to be diverted from the low pressure side of a closed loop system. When one of the work ports (port 2 or 4) sees a higher pressure the opposite work port is connected to the common port (port 3).
