The Sun Hydraulics DSEOXEN (DSEOXEN) is a spring-offset, high-side shuttle cartridge valve designed for hydraulic applications requiring a reliable two-position mechanism. This valve features a normal offset position that connects the common port (port 3) to work port 4 while blocking work port 2. When pressure at port 2 surpasses that at port 4, the cartridge shifts to connect the common port to port 2, subsequently blocking port 4. Notably, although the valve fits into a four-port cavity, the nose port (port 1) remains unused. The DSEOXEN incorporates Sun's floating style construction, which reduces the risk of internal parts binding due to excessive installation torque or variations in cavity/cartridge machining. The valve fits into a T32A cavity and is part of Series 2 with a capacity of up to 30 gpm (120 L/min). It can withstand a maximum operating pressure of 5000 psi (350 bar). The valve has a hex size of 1-1/8 inches (28.6 mm) and requires an installation torque between 45 and 50 lbf ft (61 to 68 Nm). Weighing approximately .70 lb (.30 kg), it is compact yet robust for demanding hydraulic systems. The seal kit for this cartridge uses Viton material with part number 990032006. This shuttle valve is ideal for applications where direct acting valves are preferred due to their fast response, dirt tolerance, stability, and robustness. While pilot-operated valves offer moderate speed and easy adjustability with low-pressure rise versus flow curves, direct acting valves like the DSEOXEN provide immediate action necessary for preventing overpressure situations efficiently in hydraulic circuits.
