The Sun Hydraulics DSESXFV (DSESXFV) is a highside shuttle cartridge valve designed for use in full-time regeneration circuits. This model is engineered to connect the higher pressure from either work port 2 or 4 to the common port 3 when one of these ports experiences increased pressure, while maintaining a spring-centered, all-ports-blocked position when both ports are at equal pressure. This feature makes it suitable for overrunning load control in regeneration applications where loads tend to extend the cylinder. However, due to spool leakage, it does not prevent drift. The DSESXFV is constructed with hardened spool and sleeve materials, offering excellent wear characteristics and minimizing cross leakage. It utilizes Sun's floating style construction to reduce the risk of internal parts binding from excessive installation torque or cavity/cartridge machining variations. Designed for a T-32A cavity, this series 2 valve has a flow capacity of 30 gpm (120 L/min) and can operate at a maximum pressure of 5000 psi (350 bar). The maximum valve leakage at 110 SUS (24 cSt) is rated at 3 in\u00b3/min (1000 psi/50 cc/min/70 bar). Installation specifications include a valve hex size of 1-1/8 inches (28.6 mm) and an installation torque requirement between 45 - 50 lbf\u00b7ft (61 - 68 Nm). High-side shuttle cartridges are most often used in full-time regeneration circuits. When both work ports (ports 2 and 4) are at equal pressures the valve is spring-centered to an all-ports-blocked position. When one of the work ports (port 2 or 4) sees a higher pressure it is connected to the common port (port 3).
