The Sun Hydraulics DSGSXCV (DSGSXCV) is a highside shuttle cartridge designed primarily for full-time regeneration circuits. This valve is engineered to connect the higher pressure work port (either port 2 or 4) to the common port (port 3) when there is a pressure differential, while it remains spring-centered in an all-ports-blocked position when both ports are at equal pressure. It provides overrunning load control in applications where the load tends to extend the cylinder, although it does not prevent drift due to spool leakage. The hardened spool-sleeve construction ensures excellent wear characteristics and minimizes cross leakage. Despite fitting into a 4-port cavity, the nose port (port 1) is not utilized. The valve features Sun's floating style construction, which reduces the risk of internal parts binding due to excessive installation torque or machining variations in the cavity or cartridge. With a capacity of 60 gpm (240 L/min) and a maximum operating pressure of 5000 psi (350 bar), this valve is robust and reliable for demanding applications. It has a maximum leakage rate of 4 in³/min at 1000 psi (65 cc/min at 70 bar). The valve hex size measures 1¼ inches (31.8 mm), with an installation torque requirement between 150 and 160 lbf·ft (203 and 217 Nm). Weighing in at approximately 1.40 lb (0.65 kg), it also includes options for Viton seal kits under part number 990033006 for enhanced durability and performance in various hydraulic systems.

High-side shuttle cartridges are most often used in full-time regeneration circuits. When both work ports (ports 2 and 4) are at equal pressures the valve is spring-centered to an all-ports-blocked position. When one of the work ports (port 2 or 4) sees a higher pressure it is connected to the common port (port 3).

• This valve provides overrunning load control in regeneration applications where the load tends to extend the cylinder. Because there is spool leakage, it does not prevent drift.
• Hardened spool/sleeve construction provides excellent wear characteristics and minimizes cross leakage.
• Although this valve goes into a 4-port cavity, the nose (port 1) is not used.
• Incorporates the Sun floating style construction to minimize the possibility of internal parts binding due to excessive installation torque and/or cavity/cartridge machining variations.
