The Sun Hydraulics DSGSXFV (DSGSXFV) is a highside shuttle cartridge designed primarily for full-time regeneration circuits. It operates by connecting the higher pressure from either work port 2 or 4 to the common port 3, while spring-centering to an all-ports-blocked position when pressures are equal. This valve is particularly effective in providing overrunning load control in regeneration applications where the load may extend the cylinder. However, due to spool leakage, it does not prevent drift. Constructed with hardened spool/sleeve components, it offers excellent wear characteristics and minimizes cross leakage. The valve fits into a T-33A cavity but does not utilize the nose port 1. The floating style construction of this valve minimizes potential binding of internal parts caused by excessive installation torque or machining variations of the cavity/cartridge. With a capacity of 60 gpm (240 L/min) and a maximum operating pressure of 5000 psi (350 bar), this series 3 cartridge provides robust performance. It exhibits a maximum valve leakage rate of 4 in³/min at 1000 psi (65 cc/min at 70 bar) when using hydraulic oil with a viscosity of 110 SUS (24 cSt). The valve has a hex size of 1¼ inches (31.8 mm) and requires an installation torque between 150 to 160 lbf·ft (203 to 217 Nm). Weighing in at approximately 1.40 lb (0.65 kg), it includes a Viton seal kit under part number 990033006 for reliable sealing performance.

High-side shuttle cartridges are most often used in full-time regeneration circuits. When both work ports (ports 2 and 4) are at equal pressures the valve is spring-centered to an all-ports-blocked position. When one of the work ports (port 2 or 4) sees a higher pressure it is connected to the common port (port 3).

• This valve provides overrunning load control in regeneration applications where the load tends to extend the cylinder. Because there is spool leakage, it does not prevent drift.
• Hardened spool/sleeve construction provides excellent wear characteristics and minimizes cross leakage.
• Although this valve goes into a 4-port cavity, the nose (port 1) is not used.
• Incorporates the Sun floating style construction to minimize the possibility of internal parts binding due to excessive installation torque and/or cavity/cartridge machining variations.
