The Sun Hydraulics DSGXXCV (DSGXXCV) is a vent-to-shift, 2-position diverter valve designed to be normally closed. It operates by venting port 1, which causes the pressure differential between port 3 and port 1 to exceed the spring force, thereby shifting the valve to connect port 3 with ports 2 and 4. This valve is not bistable and can modulate between two positions. The vent flow out of port 1 is pressure compensated. A pressure source at port 3 relative to port 1 is necessary for shifting the valve. This diverter valve is particularly useful in bypassing divider-combiner valves within limited-slip tractive circuits, providing an efficient high-speed operation when open by creating a large path around these valves. It can also be used with a single pilot valve to vent multiple diverter valves if blocking checks are incorporated at each diverter's port 1; otherwise, interaction between high and low-pressure legs may occur. The self-cleaning vent-to-shift function ensures insensitivity to contamination, while the hardened spool and sleeve offer consistent low spool leakage rates and excellent wear characteristics.
