The Sun Hydraulics DSGYXEV (DSGYXEV) is a vent-to-shift diverter valve designed as a 2-position, 3-way cartridge, primarily functioning in a normally open state from port 3 to port 4. When port 1 is vented, the pressure differential between ports 3 and 1 surpasses the spring force, causing the valve to shift and connect port 3 to port 2. This valve is not bistable and can modulate between these two positions. The vent flow out of port 1 is pressure compensated, ensuring consistent performance as detailed in its technical data. A pressure source at port 3 relative to port 1 is necessary for shifting the valve. An exemplary application involves using this valve in pairs to alternate between two motors or pumps. A single pilot valve can be employed to vent multiple diverter valves if blocking checks are installed at each diverter's port 1; otherwise, interaction may occur between high and low-pressure legs of the circuit. The self-cleaning vent-to-shift function renders it insensitive to contamination, while its hardened spool and sleeve deliver reliable low spool leakage rates and excellent wear characteristics. The Sun floating style construction minimizes potential internal part binding due to excessive installation torque or cavity/cartridge machining variations. It fits into a T-33A cavity with a capacity of up to 60 gpm (240 L/min) and can withstand a maximum operating pressure of up to 5000 psi (350 bar). The nominal vent flow rate is specified at approximately 35 in\u00b3/min (0.60 L/min). Installation requires a torque of between 150 -160 lbf ft (203 -217 Nm), with the model weighing about 1.40 lb (0.65 kg). It uses Viton seals with an available seal kit under part number: 990033006.

This vent-to-shift diverter valve is a 2-position, 3-way cartridge that is normally open from port 3 to port 4. When port 1 is vented, the pressure differential between port 3 and port 1 exceeds the spring force causing the valve to shift, thereby connecting port 3 to port 2.

  • This valve is not bistable; it is capable of modulating between the two positions shown.
  • Vent flow out of port 1 is pressure compensated and is listed in Technical Data.
  • There must be a pressure source at port 3, relative to port 1, to shift the valve.
  • One application of this valve is to be used in pairs to select between 2 motors or pumps.
  • One pilot valve may be used to vent multiple diverter valves if blocking checks are used at port 1 of each diverter. If blocking checks are not used there will be interaction between high and low pressure legs of the circuit.
  • The vent-to-shift function is self cleaning and therefore insensitive to contamination.
  • Hardened spool and sleeve provide consistent and low spool leakage rates and excellent wear characteristics.
  • Incorporates the Sun floating style construction to minimize the possibility of internal parts binding due to excessive installation torque and/or cavity/cartridge machining variations.
