The Sun Hydraulics DSISXCV (DSISXCV) is a highside shuttle cartridge designed primarily for use in full-time regeneration circuits. This valve is adept at managing overrunning load control in applications where the load tends to extend the cylinder. It features a spring-centered mechanism that blocks all ports when both work ports, 2 and 4, are at equal pressures. If one of these ports experiences higher pressure, it connects to the common port, port 3. Notably, this valve does not prevent drift due to spool leakage. Constructed with hardened spool and sleeve components, it offers excellent wear resistance and minimizes cross leakage. The valve is built with Sun's floating style construction to reduce internal part binding risks from excessive installation torque or cavity machining variations. The DSISXCV fits into a T-34A cavity and belongs to Series 4, supporting a capacity of up to 120 gpm (480 L/min) with a maximum operating pressure of 5000 psi (350 bar). Its maximum valve leakage at 110 SUS (24 cSt) is rated at 5 in\u00b3/min (1000 psi) or approximately 80 cc/min (70 bar). The valve has a hex size of 1-5/8 inches (41.3 mm) and requires an installation torque between 350 - 375 lbf-ft (475 - 508 Nm). It weighs approximately 2.90 lbs (1.30 kg). For maintenance, the recommended seal kit for this cartridge uses Viton material: part number 990034006.

High-side shuttle cartridges are most often used in full-time regeneration circuits. When both work ports (ports 2 and 4) are at equal pressures the valve is spring-centered to an all-ports-blocked position. When one of the work ports (port 2 or 4) sees a higher pressure it is connected to the common port (port 3).

  • This valve provides overrunning load control in regeneration applications where the load tends to extend the cylinder. Because there is spool leakage, it does not prevent drift.
  • Hardened spool/sleeve construction provides excellent wear characteristics and minimizes cross leakage.
  • Although this valve goes into a 4-port cavity, the nose (port 1) is not used.
  • Incorporates the Sun floating style construction to minimize the possibility of internal parts binding due to excessive installation torque and/or cavity/cartridge machining variations.
