The Sun Hydraulics DSISXEV (DSISXEV) is a highside shuttle cartridge designed for use in full-time regeneration circuits. This valve is engineered to provide overrunning load control in regeneration applications, particularly where the load tends to extend the cylinder. It features a spring-centered mechanism that positions the valve to an all-ports-blocked state when both work ports (ports 2 and 4) are at equal pressures. If one of these work ports experiences higher pressure, it connects to the common port (port 3). Notably, this valve does not prevent drift due to spool leakage. Constructed with hardened spool-sleeve components, it offers excellent wear characteristics and minimizes cross leakage. While it fits into a four-port cavity, the nose port (port 1) remains unused. The DSISXEV incorporates Sun's floating style construction, reducing the risk of internal parts binding from excessive installation torque or machining variations in cavity/cartridge setups. It fits into a T-34A cavity and belongs to Series 4 with a capacity of up to 120 gpm (480 L/min). The maximum operating pressure is rated at 5000 psi (350 bar), and its maximum valve leakage at 110 SUS (24 cSt) is approximately 5 in\u00b3/min at 1000 psi (80 cc/min at 70 bar). The valve has a hex size of 1-5/8 inches (41.3 mm) and requires an installation torque between 350 and 375 lbf-ft (475 to 508 Nm). Weighing in at approximately 2.90 lb (1.30 kg), it can be maintained with a Viton seal kit under part number 990034006.

High-side shuttle cartridges are most often used in full-time regeneration circuits. When both work ports (ports 2 and 4) are at equal pressures the valve is spring-centered to an all-ports-blocked position. When one of the work ports (port 2 or 4) sees a higher pressure it is connected to the common port (port 3).
- This valve provides overrunning load control in regeneration applications where the load tends to extend the cylinder. Because there is spool leakage, it does not prevent drift.
- Hardened spool/sleeve construction provides excellent wear characteristics and minimizes cross leakage.
- Although this valve goes into a 4-port cavity, the nose (port 1) is not used.
- Incorporates the Sun floating style construction to minimize the possibility of internal parts binding due to excessive installation torque and/or cavity/cartridge machining variations.
