The Sun Hydraulics DSISXFN (DSISXFN) is a highside shuttle cartridge specifically designed for full-time regeneration circuits. This valve operates by connecting the higher pressure from either work port 2 or 4 to the common port 3 when pressures are unequal, while maintaining an all-ports-blocked position when pressures are equal. It is particularly useful for controlling overrunning loads in regeneration applications where the load may extend the cylinder. Despite its capabilities, it does not completely prevent drift due to spool leakage. The valve features hardened spool-sleeve construction to enhance wear resistance and minimize cross leakage, and incorporates Sun's floating style construction to reduce internal binding risks caused by excessive installation torque or cavity/cartridge machining variations. The DSISXFN fits into a T-34A cavity, with a flow capacity of up to 120 gpm (480 L/min) and can withstand a maximum operating pressure of 5000 psi (350 bar). The maximum valve leakage at 110 SUS (24 cSt) is rated at 5 in\u00b3/min (80 cc/min) at 1000 psi (70 bar). It has a hex size of 1-5/8 inches (41.3 mm) and requires an installation torque between 350 and 375 lbf-ft (475 to 508 Nm). Weighing approximately 2.90 lb (1.30 kg), this model includes a Viton seal kit for enhanced durability under various conditions.

High-side shuttle cartridges are most often used in full-time regeneration circuits. When both work ports (ports 2 and 4) are at equal pressures the valve is spring-centered to an all-ports-blocked position. When one of the work ports (port 2 or 4) sees a higher pressure it is connected to the common port (port 3).

  • This valve provides overrunning load control in regeneration applications where the load tends to extend the cylinder. Because there is spool leakage, it does not prevent drift.
  • Hardened spool/sleeve construction provides excellent wear characteristics and minimizes cross leakage.
  • Although this valve goes into a 4-port cavity, the nose (port 1) is not used.
  • Incorporates the Sun floating style construction to minimize the possibility of internal parts binding due to excessive installation torque and/or cavity/cartridge machining variations.
