The Sun Hydraulics DSISXFV (DSISXFV) is a highside shuttle cartridge designed for use in full-time regeneration circuits. It features a unique ability to spring-center to an all-ports-blocked position when both work ports, ports 2 and 4, are at equal pressures. This valve seamlessly connects the higher pressure from one of the work ports (either port 2 or 4) to the common port (port 3), providing effective overrunning load control in regeneration applications where the load tends to extend the cylinder. It is important to note that while this valve facilitates control, it does not prevent drift due to spool leakage. Constructed with hardened spool-sleeve design, it offers excellent wear characteristics and minimizes cross leakage. The Sun floating style construction incorporated into this model reduces the risk of internal parts binding due to excessive installation torque or cavity/cartridge machining variations. Though designed for a four-port cavity, its nose port (port 1) remains unused. The DSISXFV has a capacity of up to 120 gpm (480 L/min) and can withstand a maximum operating pressure of 5000 psi (350 bar). It has a maximum valve leakage rate of 5 in\u00b3/min at 1000 psi (80 cc/min at 70 bar). The valve's hex size is approximately 1-5/8 inches (41.3 mm), with an installation torque requirement between 350 and 375 lbf-ft (475 to 508 Nm). Weighing in at about 2.90 lb (1.30 kg), this model is compatible with Viton seal kits under cartridge number 990034006, ensuring optimal performance and longevity in demanding hydraulic systems.

High-side shuttle cartridges are most often used in full-time regeneration circuits. When both work ports (ports 2 and 4) are at equal pressures the valve is spring-centered to an all-ports-blocked position. When one of the work ports (port 2 or 4) sees a higher pressure it is connected to the common port (port 3).

  • This valve provides overrunning load control in regeneration applications where the load tends to extend the cylinder. Because there is spool leakage, it does not prevent drift.
  • Hardened spool/sleeve construction provides excellent wear characteristics and minimizes cross leakage.
  • Although this valve goes into a 4-port cavity, the nose (port 1) is not used.
  • Incorporates the Sun floating style construction to minimize the possibility of internal parts binding due to excessive installation torque and/or cavity/cartridge machining variations.
