The Sun Hydraulics DSISXGN (DSISXGN) is a highside shuttle cartridge designed primarily for full-time regeneration circuits. This valve is engineered to manage overrunning load control in regeneration applications, particularly where the load tends to extend the cylinder. It features a hardened spool-sleeve construction, which enhances wear resistance and minimizes cross leakage. The DSISXGN model operates within a 4-port cavity configuration, although the nose port (port 1) remains unused. This design incorporates Sun's floating style construction to reduce the risk of internal parts binding due to excessive installation torque or variations in cavity/cartridge machining. With a maximum operating pressure of 5000 psi (350 bar) and a capacity of 120 gpm (480 L/min), this valve suits demanding hydraulic systems. Despite its capabilities, it does not prevent drift due to inherent spool leakage. The valve's dimensions include a hex size of 1 5/8 inches (41.3 mm), an installation torque range of 350-375 lbf ft (475-508 Nm), and it weighs approximately 2.90 lb (1.30 kg). For maintenance, a Viton seal kit is available under part number 990034006.

High-side shuttle cartridges are most often used in full-time regeneration circuits. When both work ports (ports 2 and 4) are at equal pressures the valve is spring-centered to an all-ports-blocked position. When one of the work ports (port 2 or 4) sees a higher pressure it is connected to the common port (port 3).

  • This valve provides overrunning load control in regeneration applications where the load tends to extend the cylinder. Because there is spool leakage, it does not prevent drift.
  • Hardened spool/sleeve construction provides excellent wear characteristics and minimizes cross leakage.
  • Although this valve goes into a 4-port cavity, the nose (port 1) is not used.
  • Incorporates the Sun floating style construction to minimize the possibility of internal parts binding due to excessive installation torque and/or cavity/cartridge machining variations.
