The Sun Hydraulics DSISXGV (DSISXGV) is a highside shuttle cartridge designed for use in full-time regeneration circuits. This valve is particularly useful in applications requiring overrunning load control where the load tends to extend the cylinder. It operates by connecting the higher pressure work port—either port 2 or 4—to the common port, port 3, while both ports are at equal pressures; it remains spring-centered in an all-ports-blocked position. Notably, this valve does not prevent drift due to its spool leakage. The construction features hardened spool-sleeve components that enhance wear resistance and reduce cross leakage. The valve fits into a 4-port cavity (T-34A) but does not utilize the nose port (port 1). It incorporates Sun's floating style construction to prevent internal binding from installation torque or machining variations. This model has a capacity of 120 gpm (480 L/min) and can withstand a maximum operating pressure of 5000 psi (350 bar). Its maximum valve leakage at 110 SUS (24 cSt) is rated at 5 in³/min at 1000 psi (80 cc/min at 70 bar). The DSISXGV has a hex size of 1-5/8 inches (41.3 mm) and requires an installation torque between 350 and 375 lbf-ft (475 to 508 Nm). Weighing approximately 2.90 lbs (1.30 kg), it is compatible with Viton seal kits, specifically part number 990034006. This valve is best suited for applications needing robust, stable performance with minimal internal leakage, making it ideal for hydraulic systems requiring precise load control in regenerative processes.

High-side shuttle cartridges are most often used in full-time regeneration circuits. When both work ports (ports 2 and 4) are at equal pressures the valve is spring-centered to an all-ports-blocked position. When one of the work ports (port 2 or 4) sees a higher pressure it is connected to the common port (port 3).
- This valve provides overrunning load control in regeneration applications where the load tends to extend the cylinder. Because there is spool leakage, it does not prevent drift.
- Hardened spool/sleeve construction provides excellent wear characteristics and minimizes cross leakage.
- Although this valve goes into a 4-port cavity, the nose (port 1) is not used.
- Incorporates the Sun floating style construction to minimize the possibility of internal parts binding due to excessive installation torque and/or cavity/cartridge machining variations.
