The Sun Hydraulics DSIXXDV (DSIXXDV) is a vent-to-shift, 2-position diverter valve that operates in a normally closed state. This valve is designed to shift when port 1 is vented, causing the pressure differential between port 3 and port 1 to exceed the spring force, thereby connecting port 3 with ports 2 and 4. It is not bistable and can modulate between the two positions shown. The vent flow out of port 1 is pressure compensated, and there must be a pressure source at port 3 relative to port 1 for the valve to shift. One specific application for this valve is in bypassing divider-combiner valves within a limited-slip tractive circuit; when closed, oil must pass through the divider-combiner valves, but when open, it provides a large path around them for efficient high-speed operations. A single pilot valve can vent multiple diverter valves if blocking checks are used at port 1 of each diverter; without blocking checks, interaction occurs between high and low-pressure circuit legs. The vent-to-shift function is self-cleaning and insensitive to contamination. It features a hardened spool and sleeve for consistent low spool leakage rates and excellent wear characteristics. The floating style construction minimizes internal part binding due to excessive installation torque or cavity/cartridge machining variations. The valve fits into cavity T-34A, belongs to Series 4, has a capacity of up to 120 gpm (480 L/min), and can handle a maximum operating pressure of 5000 psi (350 bar). It has a nominal vent flow of 35 in\u00b3/min (0.60 L/min) with installation torque ranging from 350 to 375 lbf ft (475 to 508 Nm). The model weighs approximately 3.30 lb (1.50 kg) and uses Viton seal kits for cartridge maintenance.

This is a vent-to-shift, 2-position, diverter valve that is normally closed. When port 1 is vented, the pressure differential between port 3 and port 1 exceeds the spring force causing the valve to shift, thereby connecting port 3 with ports 2 and 4.
- This valve is not bistable; it is capable of modulating between the two positions shown.
- Vent flow out of port 1 is pressure compensated and is listed in Technical Data.
- There must be a pressure source at port 3, relative to port 1, to shift the valve.
- One application of this valve is to bypass divider/combiner valves in a limited-slip tractive circuit. Closed, the oil must go through the divider/combiner valves. Open, there is a large path around the divider/combiner valves for efficient high speed operation.
- One pilot valve may be used to vent multiple diverter valves if blocking checks are used at port 1 of each diverter. If blocking checks are not used there will be interaction between high and low pressure legs of the circuit.
- The vent-to-shift function is self cleaning and therefore insensitive to contamination.
- Hardened spool and sleeve provide consistent and low spool leakage rates and excellent wear characteristics.
- Incorporates the Sun floating style construction to minimize the possibility of internal parts binding due to excessive installation torque and/or cavity/cartridge machining variations.
