The Sun Hydraulics DTCMTCN (DTCMTCN) is a manually operated, 2-position, 2-way directional cartridge valve designed for controlling the direction of flow in a hydraulic circuit. This direct-acting, poppet-style valve is available only in a normally closed configuration and is specifically engineered for intermittent use, such as manual overrides. It utilizes Sun's Twist-Lock manual override mechanism, which allows for momentary or detent-lock control options. The momentary-twist control option enables the operator to temporarily shift the valve by twisting the knob clockwise and releasing it to return to its normal position. The detent-lock option allows shifting into a mechanically detented position by twisting counterclockwise; however, this position is not intended for load-holding applications but rather for temporary shifting. The dual-operation control option offers both momentary and detent functions. With an estimated mechanical life expectancy of approximately 7,000 cycles, the valve's operation should be performed manually without modification or use of mechanical devices. Its poppet-style design ensures extremely low leakage rates of less than 10 drops per minute at pressures up to 5,000 psi (350 bar). The DTCMTCN incorporates a combination seat-spool design for enhanced sealing integrity and features Sun's floating style construction to minimize internal binding caused by excessive installation torque or machining variations. This valve fits into T-13A cavities and belongs to Series 1 with a capacity of 6 gpm (23 L/min). It requires an operating torque of 10 lbf-in (1.2 Nm) and should be installed with a torque between 30-35 lbf-ft (41-47 Nm). The Viton seal kit for this cartridge is part number 990413006.

This manually operated, 2-position, 2-way directional cartridge is a direct-acting, poppet-style valve used to control the direction of flow in a hydraulic circuit. The valve is only available in a normally closed configuration. Manual operation is achieved via Sun's Twist/Lock manual override mechanism and is designed for intermittent (infrequent) use only. Due to the poppet-style construction, this valve has extremely low leakage.
Many poppet style directional valves pass a small amount of fluid when the pressure across them changes suddenly. This is due to the compressibility of the fluid. This valve has been designed to prevent this from happening.
- This valve is designed for intermittent use such as a manual override. The manual control assembly has a mechanical life expectancy of approximately 7,000 cycles.
- The momentary/twist control option "T" allows the operator to momentarily shift the valve by twisting the knob clockwise and releasing. Once released, the valve returns to its normal position.
- The detent/lock control option "L" allows the operator to shift the valve into a mechanically detented position by twisting the knob counter-clockwise. This detented position will be maintained until the operator twists the knob clockwise and allows the valve to return to its normal position. Please note that the detented position is not intended for load holding applications but for temporary shifting only.
- The dual-operation control option "D" allows the operator to either shift the valve momentarily by twisting the knob clockwise or shift it into a mechanically detented postion by twisting counter-clockwise. Please note that the detented position is not intended for load holding applications but for temporary shifting only.
- The control on this valve is meant to be operated by a person's hand. The control should not be modified, for instance fastening a lever to the knob. Under no circumstances should the control be operated by other mechanical devices.
- Valves exhibit extremely low leakage rates; less than 10 drops/min. @ 5000 psi (0,7 cc/min @350 bar).
- This valve is suitable for load holding applications. The detent mechanism in the manual override is meant for temporary actuation only.
- Provides a combination seat/spool design for increased sealing integrity.
- Incorporates the Sun floating style construction to minimize the possibility of internal parts binding due to excessive installation torque and/or cavity/cartridge machining variations.
