The Sun Hydraulics FKDBLCN (Material Number: FKDBLCN) is a versatile 2-way, 2-position proportional throttle valve designed for precise flow control in hydraulic systems. This valve features ports 2 and 3 that are normally closed, with pilot pressure at port 1 creating a metering orifice between these ports. This configuration allows for flow control that is proportional to the pressure at port 1, offering partial self-compensation as load pressures fluctuate. The valve incorporates a bleed-down feature connecting ports 3 to 4 in the spring-biased position, which is particularly beneficial when used in circuits with counterbalance valves downstream of port 3. As the pilot pressure increases at port 1, this bleed-down connection closes. For enhanced pressure compensation, an external modulating logic element can be employed, using LRCXHN for bypass circuits or LPCXHN for restrictive circuits. The valve's design supports a degree of self-compensation and can be used independently as a flow control device. To ensure accurate control across varying flows and pressures, maintaining a constant pressure differential across the valve is crucial. Ports 1 and 4 should not exceed pressures of 500 psi (35 bar), as pressure at port 4 directly opposes that at port 1. The FKDBLCN model offers an optional tuning adjustment (L control) to manually alter pilot pressure requirements for flow regulation, with an adjustment range from 50 to 300 psi (3.5 to 20 bar). It utilizes Sun's floating style construction to reduce internal binding risks due to installation torque or machining variations. With a capacity of up to 10 gpm (40 L/min) and maximum operating pressure of 5000 psi (350 bar), this valve ensures reliable performance in demanding applications.
This valve is a 2-way, 2 position, proportional throttle. Ports 2 and 3 are normally closed. Pilot pressure at port 1 creates a metering orifice between port 2 and 3 that is proportional to the pressure at 1. The force balance of the flow forces, spring and pilot pressure results in a degree of partial self-compensation as the load pressure changes.
This valve includes a bleed down feature which connects ports 3 to 4 in the spring biased position. The bleed down feature is useful when the valve is used as a meter-in flow control in circuits which include counterbalance valves downstream of port 3. The bleed down connection is closed as the valve is piloted with increasing pressure at port 1.
Pressure at port 4 directly opposes pressure at port 1.
- These valves may be pressure compensated by an external, modulating, logic element. Use LR_C-XHN for a bypass circuit or LP_C-XHN for a restrictive circuit.
- The valve provides a degree of self-compensation and may be used as a flow control. To increase the accuracy of flow control, an external, modulating, logic element can be used to maintain a constant flow over a wider range of flows and pressures.
