The Sun Hydraulics FKHAXCV (Material Number: FKHAXCV) is a 2-way, 2-position proportional throttle valve designed for precise flow control applications. Featuring ports 2 and 3 that are normally closed, this valve utilizes pilot pressure at port 1 to create a metering orifice between ports 2 and 3, which adjusts proportionally to the pressure at port 1. A force balance involving flow forces, spring tension, and pilot pressure provides partial self-compensation as load pressures fluctuate. For enhanced accuracy in pressure compensation, an external modulating logic element such as LRCXHN for bypass circuits or LPCXHN for restrictive circuits can be incorporated. The FKHAXCV valve provides a degree of self-compensation and can be effectively used as a flow control device. To further refine flow accuracy across varying pressures and flows, an external logic element is recommended. Ports 1 and 4 have a pressure limit of 500 psi (35 bar), with pressure at port 4 directly opposing that at port 1. An optional L control tuning adjustment allows users to vary the pilot pressure needed to regulate flow within an adjustment range of 20-200 psi (1.4-14 bar), with a standard setting of 100 psi (7 bar). This valve incorporates Sun's floating style construction to minimize internal part binding due to excessive installation torque or machining variations in cavity/cartridge applications. With a cavity size of T-24A, series number four, it offers a capacity of up to 40 gpm (160 L/min) and operates under maximum pressures of up to 5000 psi (350 bar). The valve has minimal leakage rates at specified viscosities and features precise hysteresis values for reliable performance in demanding environments.

This valve is a 2-way, 2 position, proportional throttle. Ports 2 and 3 are normally closed. Pilot pressure at port 1 creates a metering orifice between port 2 and 3 that is proportional to the pressure at 1. The force balance of the flow forces, spring and pilot pressure results in a degree of partial self-compensation as the load pressure changes.

Pressure at port 4 directly opposes pressure at port 1.

  • These valves may be pressure compensated by an external, modulating, logic element. Use LR_C-XHN for a bypass circuit or LP_C-XHN for a restrictive circuit.
