The Sun Hydraulics FKHBXCV (FKHBXCV) is a sophisticated 2-way, 2-position proportional throttle valve designed for precise flow control in hydraulic systems. This valve features normally closed ports 2 and 3, with pilot pressure applied at port 1 creating a metering orifice between these ports, proportional to the pressure at port 1. The valve's design incorporates a force balance between flow forces, spring tension, and pilot pressure, offering partial self-compensation as load pressure fluctuates. An integral bleed-down feature connects ports 3 to 4 in the spring-biased position, beneficial when used as a metering flow control in circuits with counterbalance valves downstream of port 3. This connection is sealed off as the valve is actuated with increased pressure at port 1. For enhanced accuracy in flow control, an external modulating logic element can be employed to maintain consistent flow across varying flows and pressures. The FKHBXCV supports both bypass and restrictive circuits using elements LRCXHN and LPCXHN respectively. The recommended operating conditions limit pressures at ports 1 and 4 to a maximum of 500 psi (35 bar). Additionally, an optional tuning adjustment (L control) allows manual variation of pilot pressure required for controlling flow within a range of 20-200 psi (1.4-14 bar), with a standard setting of 100 psi (7 bar). Constructed with Sun's floating style design, this valve minimizes risks of internal part binding due to excessive installation torque or machining variations. It fits into cavity T-24A and belongs to series 4 with a capacity of up to 40 gpm (160 L/min) under maximum operating pressures reaching up to 5000 psi (350 bar). With minimal leakage rates and precise adjustment capabilities, the FKHBXCV provides reliable performance for demanding hydraulic applications.
This valve is a 2-way, 2 position, proportional throttle. Ports 2 and 3 are normally closed. Pilot pressure at port 1 creates a metering orifice between port 2 and 3 that is proportional to the pressure at 1. The force balance of the flow forces, spring and pilot pressure results in a degree of partial self-compensation as the load pressure changes.
This valve includes a bleed down feature which connects ports 3 to 4 in the spring biased position. The bleed down feature is useful when the valve is used as a meter-in flow control in circuits which include counterbalance valves downstream of port 3. The bleed down connection is closed as the valve is piloted with increasing pressure at port 1.
Pressure at port 4 directly opposes pressure at port 1.
- These valves may be pressure compensated by an external, modulating, logic element. Use LR_C-XHN for a bypass circuit or LP_C-XHN for a restrictive circuit.
- The valve provides a degree of self-compensation and may be used as a flow control. To increase the accuracy of flow control, an external, modulating, logic element can be used to maintain a constant flow over a wider range of flows and pressures. - Ports 1 and 4 should be limited to 500 psi (35 bar).
