The Sun Hydraulics FKIBLCV (Material Number: FKIBLCV) is a 2-way, 2-position proportional throttle valve designed for precise flow control in hydraulic circuits. This valve features ports 2 and 3 that are normally closed, with pilot pressure at port 1 creating a metering orifice between these ports proportional to the pressure at port 1. The design incorporates a force balance of flow forces, spring, and pilot pressure that provides partial self-compensation as load pressures change. A notable feature of this valve is its bleed down capability, which connects ports 3 to 4 in the spring-biased position. This function is particularly beneficial when used as a metering flow control in circuits with counterbalance valves downstream of port 3. The FKIBLCV can be pressure compensated using an external modulating logic element, such as LRCXHN for bypass circuits or LPCXHN for restrictive circuits. It offers a degree of self-compensation and can be enhanced with external elements to maintain constant flow across varying pressures and flows. The operational limits for ports 1 and 4 are set at a maximum of 500 psi (35 bar). Additionally, an optional tuning adjustment (L control) allows users to vary the pilot pressure required for flow control, with an adjustment range from 20 to 180 psi (1.4 to 13 bar). This valve utilizes Sun's floating style construction to minimize potential binding issues due to installation torque or machining variations. It fits into cavity T-24A and belongs to series four with a capacity of up to 60 gpm (240 L/min). The valve can handle maximum operating pressures up to 5000 psi (350 bar) with minimal leakage rates and requires specific torque settings during installation.
This valve is a 2-way, 2 position, proportional throttle. Ports 2 and 3 are normally closed. Pilot pressure at port 1 creates a metering orifice between port 2 and 3 that is proportional to the pressure at 1. The force balance of the flow forces, spring and pilot pressure results in a degree of partial self-compensation as the load pressure changes.
This valve includes a bleed down feature which connects ports 3 to 4 in the spring biased position. The bleed down feature is useful when the valve is used as a meter-in flow control in circuits which include counterbalance valves downstream of port 3. The bleed down connection is closed as the valve is piloted with increasing pressure at port 1.
Pressure at port 4 directly opposes pressure at port 1.
- These valves may be pressure compensated by an external, modulating, logic element. Use LR_C-XHN for a bypass circuit or LP_C-XHN for a restrictive circuit.
- The valve provides a degree of self-compensation and may be used as a flow control. To increase the accuracy of flow control, an external, modulating, logic element can be used to maintain a constant flow over a wider range of flows and pressures.
