The Sun Hydraulics FLJAXCN (Material Number: FLJAXCN) is a robust filter element designed for hydraulic systems, offering a choice between Surface Type Last Chance and Depth Style elements. The filter operates with a flow path from Port 2 to Port 1 and should not be reversed, even with a reverse free flow check valve. It features a high collapse pressure, making it suitable for in-line system use. The longevity of the filter depends on the initial cleanliness of the system and the level of dirt ingress during operation. It boasts a differential crush pressure of 3000 psid (210 bar), ensuring durability under demanding conditions. The Surface Type element incorporates a 304 stainless steel mesh media, with all internal components made from the same material, providing a 40-micron nominal rating and 63-micron absolute rating. This design is intended to capture particles not trapped by the main system filter or those resulting from component failures. When correctly installed above the subplate, it protects the entire valve stack without impacting regular operations. Depth Type elements offer pleated microglass media with clear zinc-coated components, available in nominal ranges of 3 m, 10 m, and 25 m. These elements have specific Beta ratios detailed in performance curves, enhancing their filtering capabilities. The product fits into Cavity T18A and belongs to Series 4 with an impressive capacity of 80 gpm (320 L/min) and can withstand a maximum operating pressure of 5000 psi (350 bar). It requires installation torque between 350 - 375 lbf ft (475 - 508 Nm) using Viton seal kits for optimal performance.

Sun filter elements are available as Surface Type (Last Chance) and Depth Style elements. The flow path is Port 2 to Port 1 and should not be used in reverse, even with a reverse free flow check valve installed. The elements have a high collapse pressure and are intended to be used in line with the system. Filter life will depend on initial system cleanliness and the amount of dirt ingression to the system when operating.

  • Differential crush pressure is 3000 psid (210 bar).
  • The flow path is Port 2 to Port 1 only.
  • Installation directly above the subplate will protect the entire valve stack from particles.
  • Surface type element features a 304 stainless steel mesh media. All internal components are 304 stainless steel.
  • Surface Type elements have a 40 micron nominal rating (63 micron absolute).
  • Surface Type elements are designed to capture errant particles that may not be trapped in the main system filter or particles resulting from a component failure.
  • With a correctly assembled system, Surface Type elements will be unnoticed during regular operation, but will provide protection from sudden component failure.
  • Surface Type (Last Chance) elements have a single layer stainless steel mesh supported by perforated sheet tube.
  • Depth Type elements feature a pleated microglass media with clear zinc coated components.
  • Depth type elements are available in 3 µm, 10 µm, and 25 µm nominal ranges.
  • 3, 10, and 25 micron elements have a Beta ratio as shown in the Performance Curves tab.
