The Sun Hydraulics FPCCDAN912N (FPCCDAN912N) is a normally closed, electro-proportional throttle valve designed to provide precise flow control in hydraulic systems. This valve is spring-biased to remain closed and utilizes an energizing coil to generate an opening force on the spool, which is directly proportional to the command current. This force is counteracted by the spring and flow forces, creating a metering orifice whose size adjusts with the current. The valve offers self-compensation in the 1 to 2 flow direction and allows for proportional flow control from 2 to 1 with an external compensator. It supports full reverse flow in the 2 to 1 direction at maximum command without requiring a compensator under all conditions. Available configurations include normally open or normally closed states, with three different capacity ranges suitable for various applications. The valve operates efficiently at pressures up to 5000 psi and maintains low leakage levels when closed. Its solenoid coils are interchangeable with other Sun solenoid-operated valves and can be mounted bi-directionally on the tube. Multiple manual override options are available, including models without manual override capability. For optimal performance, it is recommended that an amplifier with current sensing and adjustable dither be used; dither adjustments should range between 100\u2013250 Hz. Models equipped with D or L control feature a detent mechanism for temporary actuation, supporting approximately 7,000 cycles of mechanical life expectancy. The momentary-twist override (option E) allows operators to shift the valve by twisting the manual override clockwise by 90 degrees. The cartridge incorporates Sun's floating style construction, minimizing internal part binding risks due to excessive installation torque or machining variations. It fits into a T-13A cavity and belongs to Series 1, offering a capacity of up to 10 gpm (40 L/min). The valve's compact design includes features such as Viton seals suitable for systems using phosphate ester fluids while ensuring compatibility within specified operating conditions.

This valve is a normally-closed, electro-proportional throttle. The valve is spring biased closed. Energizing the coil generates an opening force on the spool proportional to the command current and this force is countered by the spring and flow forces. This force balance creates a metering orifice whose effective size is proportional to the current. The valve exhibits a large degree of self-compensation in the 1 to 2 direction and will provide proportional flow control in the 2 to 1 direction with the addition of an external compensator. Full reverse flow (2 to 1) with 100% command in the 2 to 1 direction is possible without a compensator under all conditions.
- Available in either a normally open or normally closed configuration with three different capacity ranges.
- Capable of operating with pressures up to 5000 psi.
- Low leakage levels in the closed position.
- Coils are interchangeable with Sun's other full flow, solenoid-operated valves and can be mounted on the tube in either direction.
- This cartridge has several manual override choices, including no manual override. See Option Configuration.
- For optimum performance, an amplifier with current sensing and adjustable dither should be used. Dither should be adjustable between 100 - 250 Hz.
- On models equipped with the D or L control, the detent mechanism in the manual override is meant for temporary actuation. The D, E, L and T manual control assemblies have a mechanical life expectancy of approximately 7,000 cycles.
- The momentary/twist override option "E" allows the operator to shift the valve by twisting the manual override clockwise 90 degrees.
- Cartridges with EPDM seals are for use in systems with phosphate ester fluids. Exposure to petroleum based fluids, greases and lubricants will damage the seals.
- Incorporates the Sun floating style construction to minimize the possibility of internal parts binding due to excessive installation torque and/or cavity/cartridge machining variations.
