The Sun Hydraulics FPCCECV724N (FPCCECV724N) is a normally closed, electro-proportional throttle valve designed for precise flow control in hydraulic systems. This valve is spring-biased to remain closed until the coil is energized, generating an opening force on the spool that is proportional to the command current. This balance of forces creates a metering orifice whose effective size adjusts with the current, allowing for self-compensated flow control from port 1 to port 2 and proportional flow control from port 2 to port 1 when used with an external compensator. The valve can handle pressures up to 5000 psi and features low leakage levels when closed. The FPCCECV724N offers flexibility with its availability in either normally open or normally closed configurations and three different capacity ranges. It supports full reverse flow without a compensator under all conditions at maximum command in the reverse direction. The cartridge design incorporates Sun's floating style construction, minimizing internal binding risks due to installation torque or machining variations. For optimal performance, it is recommended to use an amplifier with current sensing and adjustable dither between 100-250 Hz. Manual override options are available, including temporary actuation mechanisms with approximately 7,000 cycle life expectancy for certain controls. The momentary-twist override option allows manual shifting by twisting the override clockwise by 90 degrees. This model fits into a T-13A cavity and has a capacity of up to 10 gpm (40 L/min). It requires specific installation torque and has interchangeable coils compatible with other Sun solenoid-operated valves. Cartridges equipped with EPDM seals are suitable for systems using phosphate ester fluids but not petroleum-based fluids. The valve's design ensures reliable performance across various applications requiring precise hydraulic flow control.

This valve is a normally-closed, electro-proportional throttle. The valve is spring biased closed. Energizing the coil generates an opening force on the spool proportional to the command current and this force is countered by the spring and flow forces. This force balance creates a metering orifice whose effective size is proportional to the current. The valve exhibits a large degree of self-compensation in the 1 to 2 direction and will provide proportional flow control in the 2 to 1 direction with the addition of an external compensator. Full reverse flow (2 to 1) with 100% command in the 2 to 1 direction is possible without a compensator under all conditions.
- Available in either a normally open or normally closed configuration with three different capacity ranges.
- Capable of operating with pressures up to 5000 psi.
- Low leakage levels in the closed position.
- Coils are interchangeable with Sun's other full flow, solenoid-operated valves and can be mounted on the tube in either direction.
- This cartridge has several manual override choices, including no manual override. See Option Configuration.
- For optimum performance, an amplifier with current sensing and adjustable dither should be used. Dither should be adjustable between 100 - 250 Hz.
- On models equipped with the D or L control, the detent mechanism in the manual override is meant for temporary actuation. The D, E, L and T manual control assemblies have a mechanical life expectancy of approximately 7,000 cycles.
- The momentary/twist override option "E" allows the operator to shift the valve by twisting the manual override clockwise 90 degrees.
- Cartridges with EPDM seals are for use in systems with phosphate ester fluids. Exposure to petroleum based fluids, greases and lubricants will damage the seals.
- Incorporates the Sun floating style construction to minimize the possibility of internal parts binding due to excessive installation torque and/or cavity/cartridge machining variations.
