The Sun Hydraulics FPCCLDN2C24V (FPCCLDN2C24V) is a normally closed, electro-proportional throttle valve designed for precise fluid control in hydraulic systems. This valve features a spring-biased closed mechanism where energizing the coil generates an opening force on the spool that is proportional to the command current. This force is countered by the internal spring and flow forces, resulting in a metering orifice whose effective size adjusts with the current, providing self-compensating flow control from port 1 to 2 and proportional flow from port 2 to 1 with an external compensator. The valve allows full reverse flow without a compensator under all conditions when fully energized in the reverse direction. The FPCCLDN2C24V is available in both normally open and normally closed configurations and supports three different capacity ranges. It operates efficiently at pressures up to 5000 psi while maintaining low leakage levels when closed. The solenoid coils used are interchangeable with other Sun Hydraulics solenoid-operated valves, offering flexibility in installation as they can be mounted in either direction on the tube. For enhanced performance, it is recommended to use an amplifier with current sensing and adjustable dither between 100-250 Hz. Manual override options are available for temporary actuation, with several configurations including no manual override or momentary-twist override options. The cartridge construction minimizes internal part binding due to excessive installation torque or machining variations. Additional specifications include a cavity size of T-13A, series 1 designation, and a maximum capacity of 10 gpm (40 L/min). The manual override requires a force of 5 lbs at 1000 psi (33 N at 100 bar) with a stroke length of .10 inches (2.5 mm). The valve has a solenoid tube diameter of .75 inches (19 mm), hex size of .78 inches (22.2 mm), and should be installed with a torque of 30-35 lbf-ft (41-47 Nm). Seal kits are available using Viton material for compatibility with specific fluid types.

This valve is a normally-closed, electro-proportional throttle. The valve is spring biased closed. Energizing the coil generates an opening force on the spool proportional to the command current and this force is countered by the spring and flow forces. This force balance creates a metering orifice whose effective size is proportional to the current. The valve exhibits a large degree of self-compensation in the 1 to 2 direction and will provide proportional flow control in the 2 to 1 direction with the addition of an external compensator. Full reverse flow (2 to 1) with 100% command in the 2 to 1 direction is possible without a compensator under all conditions.
- Available in either a normally open or normally closed configuration with three different capacity ranges.
- Capable of operating with pressures up to 5000 psi.
- Low leakage levels in the closed position.
- Coils are interchangeable with Sun's other full flow, solenoid-operated valves and can be mounted on the tube in either direction.
- This cartridge has several manual override choices, including no manual override. See Option Configuration.
- For optimum performance, an amplifier with current sensing and adjustable dither should be used. Dither should be adjustable between 100 - 250 Hz.
- On models equipped with the D or L control, the detent mechanism in the manual override is meant for temporary actuation. The D, E, L and T manual control assemblies have a mechanical life expectancy of approximately 7,000 cycles.
- The momentary/twist override option "E" allows the operator to shift the valve by twisting the manual override clockwise 90 degrees.
- Cartridges with EPDM seals are for use in systems with phosphate ester fluids. Exposure to petroleum based fluids, greases and lubricants will damage the seals.
- Incorporates the Sun floating style construction to minimize the possibility of internal parts binding due to excessive installation torque and/or cavity/cartridge machining variations.
