The Sun Hydraulics FPCCTDN624N (Material Number: FPCCTDN624N) is a normally closed, electro-proportional throttle valve designed for precise flow control in hydraulic systems. It operates by balancing the force generated by an energized coil against a spring and flow forces, creating a metering orifice whose size is proportional to the command current. This valve offers significant self-compensation from port 1 to 2 and can provide proportional flow control from port 2 to 1 with an external compensator. It supports full reverse flow without a compensator under all conditions when fully commanded in the 2 to 1 direction. The valve is available in normally open or closed configurations with three capacity ranges and can handle pressures up to 5000 psi. Notably, it has low leakage levels when closed, enhancing efficiency and reliability. The FPCCTDN624N features interchangeable coils compatible with Sun's other solenoid-operated valves and can be mounted in either direction on the tube. It offers several manual override options, including configurations without an override. For optimal performance, using an amplifier with current sensing and adjustable dither (100-250 Hz) is recommended. The manual override options have a life expectancy of approximately 7,000 cycles, with certain models featuring momentary-twist activation for temporary operation. This cartridge utilizes Sun's floating style construction to minimize internal binding due to installation torque variations or machining inconsistencies. It fits into T-13A cavities, has a capacity of 10 gpm (40 L/min), and maintains maximum leakage of 6 in\u00b3/min at 3000 psi (100 cc/min at 210 bar). The valve requires specific installation torque and comes equipped with Viton seal kits suitable for systems using phosphate ester fluids while being incompatible with petroleum-based substances.

This valve is a normally-closed, electro-proportional throttle. The valve is spring biased closed. Energizing the coil generates an opening force on the spool proportional to the command current and this force is countered by the spring and flow forces. This force balance creates a metering orifice whose effective size is proportional to the current. The valve exhibits a large degree of self-compensation in the 1 to 2 direction and will provide proportional flow control in the 2 to 1 direction with the addition of an external compensator. Full reverse flow (2 to 1) with 100% command in the 2 to 1 direction is possible without a compensator under all conditions.
- Available in either a normally open or normally closed configuration with three different capacity ranges.
- Capable of operating with pressures up to 5000 psi.
- Low leakage levels in the closed position.
- Coils are interchangeable with Sun's other full flow, solenoid-operated valves and can be mounted on the tube in either direction.
- This cartridge has several manual override choices, including no manual override. See Option Configuration.
- For optimum performance, an amplifier with current sensing and adjustable dither should be used. Dither should be adjustable between 100 - 250 Hz.
- On models equipped with the D or L control, the detent mechanism in the manual override is meant for temporary actuation. The D, E, L and T manual control assemblies have a mechanical life expectancy of approximately 7,000 cycles.
- The momentary/twist override option "E" allows the operator to shift the valve by twisting the manual override clockwise 90 degrees.
- Cartridges with EPDM seals are for use in systems with phosphate ester fluids. Exposure to petroleum based fluids, greases and lubricants will damage the seals.
- Incorporates the Sun floating style construction to minimize the possibility of internal parts binding due to excessive installation torque and/or cavity/cartridge machining variations.
