The Sun Hydraulics FPCCXDV712 (FPCCXDV712) is a normally closed, electro-proportional throttle valve designed for precise flow control in hydraulic systems. This valve is spring-biased to remain closed until the coil is energized, creating an opening force on the spool that is proportional to the command current. This interaction between the coil and spring results in a metering orifice with an effective size directly proportional to the current applied. The FPCCXDV712 provides significant self-compensation for flow in the 1 to 2 direction and can manage proportional flow control in the 2 to 1 direction when paired with an external compensator. It also allows full reverse flow from 2 to 1 without a compensator under all conditions when at maximum command. This versatile valve is available in both normally open and normally closed configurations, offering three distinct capacity ranges and operating pressures up to 5000 psi. It features low leakage levels when closed and interchangeable coils compatible with other Sun solenoid-operated valves, which can be mounted on either side of the tube. Several manual override options are available, including a momentary-twist override option that allows manual shifting by twisting clockwise by 90 degrees. For optimal performance, it is recommended to use an amplifier with current sensing and adjustable dither between 100-250 Hz. The FPCCXDV712 incorporates Sun's floating style construction, reducing the risk of internal binding due to installation torque or machining variations. It fits into cavity T-13A, has a capacity of 10 gpm (40 L/min), and a maximum valve leakage of 6 in\u00b3/min at 3000 psi (100 cc/min at 210 bar). The valve's hex size measures .78 inches (22.2 mm), with an installation torque requirement between 30-35 lbf\u00b7ft (41-47 Nm).

This valve is a normally-closed, electro-proportional throttle. The valve is spring biased closed. Energizing the coil generates an opening force on the spool proportional to the command current and this force is countered by the spring and flow forces. This force balance creates a metering orifice whose effective size is proportional to the current. The valve exhibits a large degree of self-compensation in the 1 to 2 direction and will provide proportional flow control in the 2 to 1 direction with the addition of an external compensator. Full reverse flow (2 to 1) with 100% command in the 2 to 1 direction is possible without a compensator under all conditions.
- Available in either a normally open or normally closed configuration with three different capacity ranges.
- Capable of operating with pressures up to 5000 psi.
- Low leakage levels in the closed position.
- Coils are interchangeable with Sun's other full flow, solenoid-operated valves and can be mounted on the tube in either direction.
- This cartridge has several manual override choices, including no manual override. See Option Configuration.
- For optimum performance, an amplifier with current sensing and adjustable dither should be used. Dither should be adjustable between 100 - 250 Hz.
- On models equipped with the D or L control, the detent mechanism in the manual override is meant for temporary actuation. The D, E, L and T manual control assemblies have a mechanical life expectancy of approximately 7,000 cycles.
- The momentary/twist override option "E" allows the operator to shift the valve by twisting the manual override clockwise 90 degrees.
- Cartridges with EPDM seals are for use in systems with phosphate ester fluids. Exposure to petroleum based fluids, greases and lubricants will damage the seals.
- Incorporates the Sun floating style construction to minimize the possibility of internal parts binding due to excessive installation torque and/or cavity/cartridge machining variations.
