The Sun Hydraulics FRCAXAV (FRCAXAV) is a bypass-restrictive, fixed-orifice, priority flow control valve designed to manage and direct hydraulic flow efficiently. It operates by taking an input flow at port 1 and prioritizing the flow to port 3. If the input exceeds the priority requirement, the surplus is redirected through port 2 for potential use in secondary circuits. Notably, both priority and bypass flows can function up to the system's maximum operating pressure of 5000 psi (350 bar). The valve maintains a relatively constant priority flow despite variations in input. However, bypass flow becomes available only after fulfilling the priority needs. The design allows pressure at port 2 to exceed that at port 3. Equipped with a sharp-edged orifice, it minimizes variations due to viscosity changes. An optional adjustable control offers up to a 25% variation from factory settings using an internal adjustment screw with three turns for tuning.
