The Sun Hydraulics FRDCKAN (Material Number: FRDCKAN) is a modified flow control valve designed specifically for bypass mode operations. It departs from the standard FRDA model by ceasing pressure compensation at the priority port when bypass pressure surpasses it, enhancing system stability in certain situations. This valve requires a specified flow rating from the customer, with factory settings accurate within 10% of the requested value. It is crucial to maintain a maximum pressure of 3000 psi (210 bar) at port 3. Bypass flow becomes available only once priority flow needs are met, and the sharp-edged orifice design ensures minimal flow variations due to viscosity changes. The valve features an adjustable control option that allows up to a 25% variation from the nominal factory preset flow, adjustable via three turns of an internal hex screw. The FRDCKAN employs Sun's floating style construction, reducing the risk of internal binding due to excessive torque during installation or machining variations in cavity/cartridge applications. This valve is a modification of an FRDA. It controls flow in the bypass mode only. If the bypass pressure exceeds the pressure at the priority port the priority flow will no longer be pressure compensated. This modification was done in an attempt to improve system stability in specific cases.

  • Customer must specify a flow rating. Factory set flow ratings are within +/- 10% of the requested setting.
